"Mr. Lee is the first handyman I ever hired to do work in my
house.
I had removed the popcorn ceiling on my living room and dining
room, entry way, and above the stairs. I needed him to patch up and apply
texture coating to the ceilings. I am extremely happy with the results. Lee did
a fantastic job on all the ceilings that he worked on. His attention to detail
is superb, he works by himself and works very hard to finish the job. He takes
pride in his work, his knowledge, and experience is outstanding. I will definitely

"Can't say enough about Brian and his crew. They installed laminate flooring (including the closets); painted the entire interior, created fixtures in the livingroom and bedroom ceilings for fans, replaced the toilet, replaced the registers and so much more. Brian even traveled to my apartment to remove the ceiling fans and install them in my new place. I originally called them for the flooring and was excited to discover they could do so much more. They finished everything in 4 days!! (I have a 900 sq. ft. condo) I will be using them again to re-do my kitchen and bathroom. They were courteous, professional, extremely reasonably priced and I highly recommend them!"

"I had a bunch of random jobs I needed done around the house: some noisy ceiling fans, broken door handles, leaky faucets... George fixed everything! Even ran to Home Depot to get the necessary materials needed to replace things. And he was very responsive, professional, and friendly! Couldn't ask for better! No, you do not have to worry about new popcorn ceilings having asbestos. All residential building materials used since the mid-1980s stopped including asbestos, so new popcorn ceilings have no risk of asbestos. You can still create a textured drywall ceiling with a popcorn texture if you like, but new techniques have no risk of adding asbestos. 

Because of the nature of the texture, it's common for the popcorn texture to loosen while painting. Popcorn ceilings are delicate, and using a heavy hand with a roller or applying overly wet paint can loosen the texture. To avoid a mess, handle the material gently with a roller or brush. It's also smart to test a small area first, and if the texture starts coming off, the ceiling may need repairs or sealing before painting.

If your popcorn ceiling is asbestos-free and you are ready for a new look, painting is an option. As long as there is no flaking or other wear, a new coat of paint might be just the thing to refresh the old ceiling. The best way to paint a popcorn ceiling is to use either a paint sprayer or a thick roller to cover the popcorn texture fully. (Do not forget to dust it off beforehand!)

“Note that if you eventually want to remove the popcorn ceiling, a painted ceiling is a labor-intensive job to remove and will cost more,” says Bob Tschudi. “Once painted, the process of removing the popcorn ceiling requires physical scraping as opposed to a spray-and-scrape approach. It’s very labor-intensive, and thus more costly.”
