"This was a huge job for Bryson and his team. The painting is flawless. Really quite amazing. I'm still stunned. His painters were all very professional. They left the house clean every night and returned on time every day. I have used other painters before some good and some not so good, but this time with such a large job I never thought it could look so perfect. But I was wrong. I am very happy. Highly recommend."

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"Roy's employees did a fantastic job. We could not be happier with our new doors. If we had any complaints, it would only be to say that it took a little longer than expected, but Roy's office warned us a little about it ahead of time. The reason why it took some extra time is that the primary installer is getting along in years, and is a complete perfectionist in his work. BUT, let me stress, his work is worth an extra day or two of waiting. Our doors use to not only leak cold air, but you could see space between the door and the frame. Roy's employees fixed all of that. Our new doors seal up nicely, and close with little to no effort.

I will give only one warning to anyone looking to have their doors replaced, and this has nothing to do with Roy or his employees: we had Roy's guys do both our windows and our doors, but in separate projects. The windows were retrofit windows and were quickly done with very little mess. The doors on the other hand required removal of not only the old door, but also the existing frame around it. This was a lot more messy, which would nor have been a big deal had we anticipated it. Fortunately, it was nothing that a little bit of plastic and some drop cloths could not take care of. Just make sure you use the plastic and drop cloth prior to ripping out the old doors.

I think the best way that I can sum up our opinion of Roy and his workers is state that we just signed another contract to do some ore work for us. If you're looking to have work done, Roy is your guy: respectful, reasonably priced, punctual, and the finished product is excellent."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Stucco will dry in two to three days, but you should wait one to two months to allow it to cure fully before you paint it. The curing process is slow, but leaving the material exposed to air and natural moisture will help it reach its maximum strength. If you live in a hot, arid climate, wait a month before painting. Wait two months before painting if you live in a more moderate or wet climate.

Several clues suggest that your stucco is damaged or has underlying issues. Visual clues include discoloration, cracks, indentations, broken caulking, or visible mold. If you touch your stucco and feel any soft spots, that could also indicate a problem. If you notice any of these concerns, call in an inspector who can confirm your suspicions and help provide solutions.

Choosing between traditional and synthetic stucco depends on your specific needs, budget, and climate. Both options are durable, but synthetic stucco includes an extra layer that makes it more resistant to cracking and a better choice for climates with extreme weather. In hot, dry climates with less rainfall, traditional stucco is a suitable and more affordable option that is less likely to trap moisture. Synthetic stucco also offers more color options and requires less maintenance.

Yes, you can apply the stucco yourself, but it is a time- and labor-intensive project, especially on the exterior of a whole house. DIY stucco is better suited for repairing stucco siding or siding a smaller building, such as a shed or garage. Since most of the cost of stucco siding goes to labor, you can cut down significantly on the total if you’re up for the challenge.

The length of time shouldn’t matter much if you stick with lightweight Christmas lights and similar decorations. Those shouldn’t pose risks to your stucco. You should avoid attaching anything to your stucco that could fall because it’s too heavy, which may take part of the stucco with it. Some methods, like using double-sided tape or adhesive hooks, will naturally wear out over time and lead to falling lights, so don’t expect to leave these lights up year-round.
