"Outstanding Repair and Resurface of Cement Patio! We needed patio cement repair. Two professionals showed and took measurements and gave us a reasonable quote. Based on their presentation, we were impressed with the options they gave us, we chose them. The contractor showed, briefed me what he needed to accomplish and how long it would take. Wow! The finished product is amazing. Totally pleased. I highly recommend Radiant Stone Care of La Habra."

"Zohar at Best Builders Group was our project manager and he did a perfect job. Our kitchen and bathrooms were completely demolished and remodeled from the ground up. Zohar is very experienced, skilled, great communicator and very detailed man. He always kept great communication channel with us during the remodeling process. Zohar helped us with guidance when we needed to go and buy all the finish products for the kitchen and bathrooms such as appliances, flooring, sinks, countertops, etc. We now have a dream kitchen that is functional and gorgeous while he meet our needs as well. The bathrooms looks elegant and beyond our expectations."

"Kitchen remodel was done on my home by Be Green Builders. Nir and his staff did a fantastic job. They made sure my project was completed on time, on budget and looks exactly like the design they showed me. I completely redid everything from the cabinets, floors, countertop and backsplash. Adding more cabinets gave me the storage space I was looking for and I also changed the wood floor to tile. The workers made sure to inform me when they would arrive each day. My kitchen was done a little faster than I expected but the quality of work was not sacrificed."

"Found george on angie's list for the 1499 countertop deal; turned out our counter square footage was more than what was for the deal but no worries; for a bit more we got exactly the counters we wanted. We shopped around and got 3-4 quotes and george's was the best. Communication was efficient; from the day he went by the house to give us an estimate till install day; he's always been responsive. We also appreciate that he gave us advice on what would look/work the best and he genuinely cares for how the work will end up looking. Install day; his installer moises and crew showed up on time; demo was a breeze on our old tile counter and install was just as painless. moises was extremely meticulous and detail oriented; i dare you to find the seam. He spent the time to make sure that everything was just right and that were happy with the work; courteous and professional the whole time and cleaned after themselves. George came by afterwards to make sure that everything looks great and do his final run through. all in all this was an extremely pleasant and painless experience hiring a contractor and we will definitely use george again for our next small project.

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

Marble is very porous, so it stains more than non-porous quartz. Exercise caution when drinking wine and juice or cooking with oil near the marble fixture.

Quartz countertops are not recommended for outdoor use. While durable indoors, they are not designed to withstand outdoor conditions like sunlight, weather, and high heat from barbeque grills. Exposure to these elements, particularly UV rays, can cause the resins in the quartz to break down, leading to discoloration and damage to the surface. For a longer-lasting outdoor countertop, it is better to choose a natural stone like granite, which has greater resistance to these elements.

There are several significant differences between laminate and quartz countertops. Quartz is much pricier than laminate but can last for decades, while laminate lasts around 15 years. Laminate can’t be repaired or resealed and is easier to damage than quartz, which can be repaired. Both quartz and laminate are prone to heat damage. Usually, the choice comes down to your budget.

Yes, a 12-inch countertop overhang will need support to keep it stable. The exact type of support depends on your countertop thickness and material. Thicker, heavier countertops need extra support, like a corbel or a post, to keep them from sagging or toppling over.

No, you should not put a hot pan or pot directly on a quartz countertop. While quartz is generally heat-resistant, the resin binders used in its manufacturing are sensitive to extreme heat from items exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This can damage the resin, leading to discoloration, burns, or even cracking. To prevent permanent damage, always use trivets or hot pads for hot cookware.
