Young pie, sour, and tart cherry trees that are over 30 inches tall in the fall or winter before the tree blooms can benefit from heading cuts.

They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary.
