"Yes they removed the gardenia bush I had in the front. They have done many jobs for me since then. Very professional, however very busy. I takes them 4 days to respond back to setup a consultation."

Customers say: True professional

"YARDS HAD BECOME OVERGROWN. PUT FLYER OUT TO 4 BUSNINESS. MARTHA CALLED THAT NIGHT. SHE CAME OUT DAYS LATER AND I SHOWED HER WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. INCLUDED TREE SERVICE. THE PRICE WAS BETTER THEN I EXPECTED. THE FIRST DAY 2 OF HER EMPLOYEES CLEANED AT LEAST 50% OF MESS. I WAS AMAZED. FIGURED IT WOULD TAKE WEEKS. BOTTOM LINE MARTHA IS HANDS ON AND MAKES SURE ALL IS DONE RIGHT. IF YOU NEED SOMEONE TO KEEP YOUR LANDSCAPE UP I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE."

"I just had my first experience with Ty and Rich from Big Rich Hauling but it certainly won't be my last. These guys are awesome!! I called Monday afternoon and they were able to schedule my appointment for two days later which was great for my schedule. And I'm amazed by how quickly they got everything removed. It would've taken me hours and multiple trips to do what they did in about 25 minutes. All for a really affordable price as well. Again, Ty and Rich are awesome!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.

Chlorine has a shelf life of between six months and several years, depending on its type and formulation. Liquid chlorine can often lose its effectiveness in just a few weeks. Pool owners can find themselves with overstock that they need to get rid of. The best way to dispose of excess chlorine is to take it to a hazardous waste collection site and let the pros handle it.

Lead removal services typically cost between $1,000 and $5,000, depending on the extent of lead presence, the property size, and the complexity of the abatement process.
