"We were looking to expand our house for years, with addition ADU. We had selected Geico Builders for their great craftsmanship, selection of materials and the competitive pricing. Mila and Kevin worked with us to renovate our enclosed patio to build a primary bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet. It turned out amazing. We went through several revisions in the design, and they took care of the permits and paperwork with the city. My wife works from home, so they were mindful in working around her availability. Overall, the project took about 14 months from when we found them due to permits taking a few months. It's hard living in a construction zone but the team went above and beyond to minimize the impact it had on our lives. They have a great team that is very attentive and responsive. Some of my parts are on back order and the team will be back to install the missing lights and shelves we bought as finishes. I will work with them again if I have other projects. Great professionals to trust your home."

"Authentic Landscape installed an automatic sprinkler system based loosely on a design we had developed. Authentic Landscape reviewed the design and came up with key improvements in the original design. Salvador, the owner, was respectful of our goals and installed a system that fit our large backyard. He was careful not to mangle existing shrubs during the trrenching. The system was installed successfully. Salvador returned after the piping, valving, rotors and timer was installed and made modifications to improve the original system configuration. I would retain them again for another project"

"Had a 220vac service installed for a new heat press. Jonatan provided a free estimate, picked up the materials and installed the new service and quick disconnect box the next morning. Excellent work and price."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

According to the National Fire Protection Association’s Code NFPA 25 (titled “Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems”), private fire hydrants must undergo inspection once per year, with an accompanying flow test and any necessary maintenance performed on the same schedule. Keep in mind that your town, city, or county may adopt more or less strict testing requirements.

No, you can’t completely fireproof a house. There is always a chance that a fire can break out inside or outside your home. Even if most of the home is built with fireproof materials, a long-burning fire can still cause damage. Still, fireproofing efforts can buy you additional time to evacuate and give you a better chance of salvaging your home after a fire rather than needing to rebuild entirely.

No, but they both serve distinct life-saving purposes. Smoke detectors primarily sense the presence of smoke, typically caused by a fire, and emit loud alarms to alert occupants to evacuate. In contrast, carbon monoxide detectors monitor the levels of carbon monoxide gas, an odorless and colorless but deadly substance produced by incomplete combustion of fuels. When CO levels become dangerous, CO detectors sound alarms to warn inhabitants of potential poisoning risks.

You should schedule a fireplace inspection at least once a year, per the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). However, this is the minimum requirement even if you’re diligent with fireplace maintenance between uses. If you suspect your fireplace is malfunctioning, schedule one sooner to avoid fire hazards or the release of harmful emissions like carbon monoxide in your home.

DIY cleaning is possible, but professionals ensure thorough soot removal and check for hazardous creosote buildup.
