"He did an excellent job including stucco, wood beams repair, followed all HOA guidelines, and passed all county inspections the first time, for all repairs, paint prep, installed hot water heater, triple garage door installations, and conducted a complete remodel interior interiorly in my home. His work was extremely detailed, he is a very clean worker, he leaves his workspace, spotless every single day, did all the dump runs, and everything with his vehicle and ultimately brought my appraisal price up to an unbelievable amount of money. I just had the house appraised a week ago and I cannot believe it. This house is impeccable. You cannot find one thing wrong with it interior or exterior. He did the incomplete remodels. Carlos is an excellent worker. I would recommend him highly and stand behind his work anytime any place. Dr. Teri Martinez"

Gutter Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Walking on the roof to clean gutters is unsafe and not recommended due to significant safety risks. It is especially dangerous on steep or slippery roofs, or if the roof is wet or covered in leaves, which increases the chance of a fall. In addition to personal injury, walking on the roof can damage shingles, potentially leading to water leaks. Instead of walking on the roof, use a sturdy ladder positioned on a stable surface to access the gutters. Be aware that using a ladder also carries risks, as it can be difficult to maintain balance while performing the work. You can also use ground-based cleaning tools. For safety reasons and to prevent damage to your roof, hiring a professional to clean your gutters is the best and safest option.

If your gutters are out of reach, a leaf blower with a gutter cleaning attachment can help blow out leaves and dirt. You can also consider using a telescoping gutter cleaning tool, which extends your reach while allowing you to clean from the ground. These tools often have adjustable attachments, such as brushes or hoses, to clear debris effectively. If these options aren’t practical, hiring a professional is a safe and efficient way to clean your gutters without risking injury.

Buried downspouts can freeze during cold weather as cold water runs through them. If you’ve discovered your downspouts are frozen, you can carefully pour hot water down the top of the downspout to defrost them. If that doesn’t work, you may need to dig your downspout back up. Avoid trying to break the ice from the exterior using a hammer as this can cause cracks and damage to your downspout.

To avoid freezing the future, consider adding a heating cable to the exterior, which can adjust heat based on the surrounding temperature.

Regular cleaning, checking for leaks, and applying protective coatings help prevent corrosion.

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.
