However the city refused to allow Perrill to complete this extension due to the distance from the property line. This would have made it new construction rather than fixing the existing roof and sidewalk. They wrapped the posts and overhang under the tiles with aluminum siding to protect the wood. The old sidewalk was cracked and angled toward the house allowing rain water to sit at the base of the house. The new sidewalk was higher and slanted away from the house allowing the rainwater to drain off to the yard. However they did an excellent job with the project and offered a guarantee which i appreciated. When I scheduled the first home inspection, I had to call to confirm the inspection time, but upon scheduling the second, I got a separate second e-mail confirmation (there is a reply automatically generated immediately upon scheduling the home inspection online) confirming the tentative home inspection appointment. David, the home inspector and owner of East Oahu Home Inspections, arrived early. We chose him before becoming a member of Angie's list because he had positive reviews on google and upon reviewing his background, felt he would be more familiar with homes on the windward side of the island than the home inspectors our real estate agent suggested. We walked with him as he conducted his inspection, which he did not mind, rather than waiting to hear his thoughts at the end. As he conducted his inspection, he pointed out issues as he noticed them. We took note on our smartphones, but it really wasn't necessary since everything ended up being on his report in the end anyway. It was worth noting referrals (roofing, plumbing, electricians, etc.) down as we went along though, since this invaluable advice did not make it into the final report. After spending a thorough 2 to 3 hours on each house, at the end he spent about another 30 minutes to an hour discussing his concerns, their severity and his thoughts on the properties as a whole. He answered all of our questions. He is clearly experienced and was very professional. On the first house he found $14,600 to $23,300 worth of items that needed attention - some more immediate than others, including fire and safety hazards. This prompted us to pull out of escrow and to call him to inspect the second house during escrow. It seems David always does some preliminary research on each property before he inspects it, but before he conducted our second inspection, he revisited the code laws regarding chimneys, since this second property has one - and he does not come across them very often here in Hawaii - go figure:-). In the end, the second property only had $5,000 to $10,000 worth of issues to address. HIs reports were very thorough, giving suspenses for when the issues should be addressed. I would definitely call on David again and highly recommend him to others!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/hi/honolulu/east-oahu-home-inspections-reviews-6177475.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Wilcox Electric LLC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"AZ","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Bart H."},"reviewBody":"The day I moved into a newly purchased house, a wall socket shorted out and threw out all the breakers in the house. It was raining and dark and the movers had been difficult. When the sparks started flying from the socket, I could only imagine the worst. Luckily, the socket didn't spark and throw off the breakers until the movers were just finishing up. They finished in the dim light and once they had left, I went to a cafe with internet service to look for an electrician on Angie's List. Luckily for me, Wilcox was willing to send an electrician right away, even though it was late in the afternoon.
Wilcox Electric was quickly able to determine that insulation on one of the wires in the outlet box had been nicked and come in contact with the metal outlet box which caused it to short out. The insulation was repaired and the socket again worked. Once again, the house had electricity.
While Wilcox was at the house, I inquired about the possibility of attached on/off switches to two wall sconces I wanted to install on either side of the fireplace. The sconces that were there at the time were always on because there was no control switch for the power. Wilcox made at opening at the bottom of the sconces and installed toggle switches I had provided.
Wilcox also removed a light switch upstairs and capped the wires when we were unable to determine what the switch was supposed to control. I wasn’t disappointed. The owner, Tait Johnson, a personable young man, runs a small repair shop located behind the funky India Center on Apache Blvd, across from the Apache Blvd/McClintock light rail station. He’s proven capable, reliable and reasonable. He let’s you know ahead of time what it will cost . If he discovers something amiss, he will get your ok before proceeding with repairs. He explains the repair without making you feel like a moron. The first time I took my Civic for a simple 50k checkup and oil change with synthetic oil. He charged $44. (Honda dealer charges $55.) He gave me the option of bringing my own synthetic oil since he didn’t have the precise grade on hand. (Like bringing your own bottle of wine to a restaurant.) I didn’t. The second time I left my 2003 Odyssey Van at the shop for an oil change. It also had an engine warning light on. Tait called and said he discovered a two broken engine mounts (front and right side) which would cost $412 to repair. (Honda dealer charges $460). He explained that they were a chronic problem with the Honda van. The engine warning light was due to a loose gas cap. He retightened the cap and reset the warning light for no charge. He replaced a rear windshield wiper for $5. Together with a $44 oil change, the total bill with tax came to $482.52, a savings of approx. $75 over what a Honda dealer would charge. He gives you a precise invoice when complete, keeps a computer record of your car’s maintenance and put’s a windshield sticker reminder for your next oil change. HonMan has a comfortable waiting area with a fish tank ala a doctor’s waiting room. Two nice Van Gogh prints on the wall as I recall (“Starry Night” and “Cafe Scene”?) Would I recommend him to anyone who drives a Honda? In a heartbeat. I also like the idea of giving my business to a small mom and pop shop rather than a dealership. Just to be on the safe side I always call a day or a few days before I take the car in"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/az/tempe/hon-man-auto-care-reviews-401241.htm"},"position":8}]}

FAQs for chimney cap service projects in Tombstone, AZ
Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.
A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.
Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature
Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.
The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
