Inspector arrived a few minutes late due to traffic, no problem for us. He conducted a thorough inspection, he found a couple things we were not aware of, (of course, we thought our home was problem free!). The ONLY negative thing I can say is that when he checked the temps of the refrigerator and freezer, his instrument was not recording correctly. I later went to Home Depot, got new thermometers, and they show that the temps are the same as the control panel inside registers. I think Inspector would freely acknowledge this. Definitely worth the peace of mind, and we appreciated the Military Discount!!

Dave was convivial, knowledgeable and punctual. He gave some great tips to help bring costs down for cooling, etc.

Their service was great and I would recommend them. He was very thorough. I liked that he let us be there while he was inspecting it. He gave us plenty of detail and explained any issue he found. We decided not to buy the condo based off the information he found.

They took a look at my roof's condition and gave recommendations on what I could do going forward. I was thinking of installing solar panels and they were able to answer all my questions. They worked hard and it seemed like they did more than I asked.

Their service was very good. I used them a couple times to do home inspections and it went very well. He was able to respond quickly and was very knowledgeable. He saved us from buying a money pit by identifying quite a few issues. He was timely in returning the results and even offered a military discount.

David was thorough and professional. Gave us verbal feedback immediately following the inspection and a detailed written report that same evening. Also gives military discount!

After spending 2 hours in the home doing his job, he met with my husband and me along with the realtor to show us the areas of concern. He was very thorough and made our family feel better about our purchase choice! Would use again if we ever buy again in Hawaii!!

Went very well. He scheduled a date very soon after I contacted him. He was very personable and thorough in his work. The only criticism I could offer is that his hyperlinked report is a little hard to read. I would prefer a very straight forward opening summary itemizing by line each issue with a cost estimate to repair and severity of the issue, then a detailed section in the body of the report describing each issue and options to remedy it. Overall though it was a very good experience.

David arrived on time to inspect a home we are in the process of buying in East Oahu. David is very personable and easy to talk with. He explained what he would be looking for in the inspection and encouraged me to ask questions. He answered all my questions and provided advice on a few specific issues. I don't have much experience with home inspections as I have only purchased a couple of houses in my lifetime (and it's been a while) but David performed what seemed to me a routine inspection. He checked the roof, appliances, elec outlets, looked at the elec panel, ran all the faucets, got up in the attic to look around, etc. His price ($425) was a bit higher than the $300-350 our realtor had said we would pay so I guess I was just expecting a bit more from his inspection, but I admit I can't say what. Late the day after the inspection David sent us a long inspection report with photos that described all the issues with the house and his recommended solutions. Overall I was happy with his work and would hire him again.

The inspection was easy to schedule online. When I scheduled the first home inspection, I had to call to confirm the inspection time, but upon scheduling the second, I got a separate second e-mail confirmation (there is a reply automatically generated immediately upon scheduling the home inspection online) confirming the tentative home inspection appointment. David, the home inspector and owner of East Oahu Home Inspections, arrived early. We chose him before becoming a member of Angie's list because he had positive reviews on google and upon reviewing his background, felt he would be more familiar with homes on the windward side of the island than the home inspectors our real estate agent suggested. We walked with him as he conducted his inspection, which he did not mind, rather than waiting to hear his thoughts at the end. As he conducted his inspection, he pointed out issues as he noticed them. We took note on our smartphones, but it really wasn't necessary since everything ended up being on his report in the end anyway. It was worth noting referrals (roofing, plumbing, electricians, etc.) down as we went along though, since this invaluable advice did not make it into the final report. After spending a thorough 2 to 3 hours on each house, at the end he spent about another 30 minutes to an hour discussing his concerns, their severity and his thoughts on the properties as a whole. He answered all of our questions. He is clearly experienced and was very professional. On the first house he found $14,600 to $23,300 worth of items that needed attention - some more immediate than others, including fire and safety hazards. This prompted us to pull out of escrow and to call him to inspect the second house during escrow. It seems David always does some preliminary research on each property before he inspects it, but before he conducted our second inspection, he revisited the code laws regarding chimneys, since this second property has one - and he does not come across them very often here in Hawaii - go figure:-). In the end, the second property only had $5,000 to $10,000 worth of issues to address. HIs reports were very thorough, giving suspenses for when the issues should be addressed. I would definitely call on David again and highly recommend him to others!

Dave was Great.

He was easy to schedule (online), was on time, professional and very detail oriented as well as a very nice guy. He was very knowledgable and really impressed my husband, realtor and myself during his 4-5 hour inspection of the older 2000 sq ft house.

His report came to us the next day via email and he followed up with a phone call to make sure there wasnt any questions. It was more that 40 pages long that included pictures and specifics and approximate repair costs which proved very crucial to our decision whether to move forward with the purchase of the house.

Easy to find online, excellent website so simple to contact and gave great information over the phone, exact quote also easy to book inspection through their website. David was very clear and easy to talk to over the phone helped me understand what to expect for our inspection. He as very professional took care of all the arrangements with the selling agent to set up our inspection, we went through the house with him during the inspection, he explained everythng and answered all of our questions. We recieved the report the next day and it was exceptional! Delievered online via our email, it was really something, all the pictures, descriptions and web links to the problems and solutions! The whole process was very educational, taught us how to look for future problems and how to fix them; very reassuring for us becoming new homeowners. Highly Recommended!
