Customers say: True professional

"This entire experience was excellent. Jim with Blue Horizon was prompt, professional, and listened to what I wanted. He clearly explained what was involved to accomplish the work I wanted done, and discussed potential problems so we were able to plan in advance in case there there were complications. The job was estimated for two full days, but he finished by noon on the second day. He was able to remove the slab without damaging the remaining patio, my house or the curved sitting wall that I wanted to keep. After completion, he did an excellent job of cleaning up. I am extremely pleased with the work and I would definitely hire again."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

After a land survey in Tempe, keep the signed and sealed survey plat, updated legal descriptions, and field notes. Photos of property corners with GPS coordinates, utility location records, and any easement or flood zone certificates are also important. Store copies of city permits, HOA approvals, and digital survey files. Maintaining annual photos of property markers helps track changes and supports future property improvements or boundary questions.

Helpful?

Tempe homeowners should start spring by checking property markers and trimming back vegetation to keep boundaries visible. In early summer, inspect for heat-related damage and review irrigation lines. During monsoon season, monitor for erosion or shifted markers. Fall and winter are ideal for annual monument verification and coordinating with neighbors. Throughout the year, update digital records and documentation to stay proactive about property boundaries in Tempe’s desert climate.

Helpful?

In Tempe, unexpected costs during land surveying can include fees for utility location, removing dense desert vegetation, and arranging access in gated communities. Homeowners may also face expenses for replacing lost or damaged property boundary markers, obtaining flood zone certificates, or resolving discrepancies in legal descriptions. Properties near canals or with irrigation rights sometimes require specialized documentation, and archaeological reviews may be necessary if artifacts are discovered.

Helpful?

In Tempe, you’ll find contractors specializing in residential boundary surveys, subdivision mapping, and construction layout for new builds. Some focus on ALTA/title surveys for real estate transactions, while others handle utility mapping or infrastructure projects. There are also specialists in water rights, archaeological surveys, and forensic land surveying for resolving property boundary disputes or addressing unique site conditions specific to Tempe’s landscape.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Tempe often overlook how the monsoon season and intense heat can disrupt survey schedules and limit access to property boundaries. Permit approvals and coordination with utility companies may take longer in neighborhoods with shared walls or historic overlays. Dense desert vegetation can hide property markers, requiring extra time for clearing. Additionally, HOA approvals in Tempe’s master-planned communities frequently extend project timelines more than expected.
