"I am pleased with their work. Just a couple of things to note. A missed tile replacement. I did tell them not to worry about after everything was done, I just wanted to get my house in order. I noticed the tiles they replaced around the toilet are set higher than the rest."

"Regal Bath and Kitchens recently remodeled my hall bathroom. They installed new tile flooring, removed the tub and installed a shower, new toilet. vanity, light fixtures etc. I am VERY pleased with the work and my bathroom is beautiful! The Regal crew (Chris and Eric) completed the work on time and were highly skilled and experienced installers. I originally got bids from other contractors but their bids were either too high or their products were poor quality. Some were very unprofessional in their sales approach. I was sold on using Regal after talking to Jennifer and Rich, both of whom are detail oriented, experienced professionals. They were able to offer me reasonable options to stay within my budget. I was also very impressed by their showroom and the high quality and beautiful product choices available. I highly recommend Regal and have asked them to now remodel my master bath. Give them a call. You won’t be disappointed! Rich and Jennifer at Regal will make it an easy process for you to plan and complete a remodel."

"I had a leak around my master toilet. Water was coming down out of the ceiling in the room below. I called and Al personally answered the phone. He and his son (it is a family business) were here less than 2 hours later and had everything fixed up within 2 hours after that. Al is clearly knowledgeable. He is also personable and charming. I have more work that needs to be done and will be hiring him again for that."

"My husband handled this for us after I bought the deal, but here is what I observed.

Paul was clean and polite. It took several weeks to connect with him to make the appointment.

He arrived late fir the appointment, but he did call to say he was on the way.

He got right to work and was quick and efficient.

He charged us $35 extra to install the drain stopper that came with the faucet. I'm not a plumber, but to me, that should be included in replacing the faucet. My husband thought this was fine. I'm just not a fan of surprise charges, especially with a prepaid deal. He left the bathroom clean and tidy. He also noticed a small issue with the toilet and gave us a price to fix it. I liked that he was proactive, but not pushy.

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.

Many homeowners stress about cleaning before an emergency plumber arrives, but you’re far better off doing the following while you wait for your plumber to get to your home:

  • Shut the water off at your water main if you have a leak or a burst pipe

  • Avoid using any water fixtures in your home, including appliances

  • Clear a path to the problem area so that it’s easily accessible

  • Consider shutting your breaker if you’re concerned that the leak may affect your electrical system

One of the many benefits of a pressure-assist toilet is how long it lasts. You can expect a well-maintained one to last up to 30 years. That's five years longer than a standard gravity-fed toilet, so it can be a worthwhile investment if you’re willing to spend more on your toilet installation.

Putting caulk around a toilet’s base where it touches the flooring can help hold the toilet in place. A more effective way is using caulk with plastic shim wedges. Place the shims underneath the base to steady and stabilize the toilet. Add some caulk to help keep the shims in place and provide a stronger and more lasting stabilization effect.

Yes, an ambitious homeowner could decide to replace their own toilet. A person attempting to do a DIY toilet installation should keep in mind that the average toilet weighs between 100 and 120 pounds. That means that you'll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying your old toilet and replacement toilet during both phases of the project. Additionally, homeowners will need to have basic plumbing knowledge to avoid plumbing problems that could result in messy, expensive water damage in their bathrooms. Hiring a plumbing pro from the get-go can help you avoid damaging your plumbing or your new toilet.
