"Rodney was incredibly professional, efficient and friendly. He came in a timely manner with boards precut and all equipment needed. He also adjusted the low-hanging metal frame, cleaned up shavings, and hosed down walkway. We were extremely pleased with his services all around and highly recommend him for fencing and other skilled work."

"Franco Landscaping does quality work and no detail is left undone. The communication and scheduling is perfect and their follow up is great. They installed several hundred feet of welded steel pipe fence with steel mesh fabric and everything is perfect. I highly recommend Franco to anyone who needs fencing of any kind."

"The whole experience was exceptional from start to finish. They were very dependable and the initial install of the chain link fence with 2 gates, was quick and just what I wanted. I have two small dogs decided to put up the fence when a javelina attacked one of them. When my outside camera caught a coyote and bobcat prowling my yard on two separate occasions, I called them out again with each new threat. They addressed my concerns modifying the fence with each additional call. What I find above and beyond, was when I called about the bobcat. They came the very next day to take care of it. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have a fence installed."

"We have had Rock 'N' Earth. The experience was fine. We chose them mainly because of their concept. They worked with us quite well and they were easy to get along with. They did a great job and they did it in a timely manner. I will have them back to do more work but that is a couple of months away or more. They do a log of rock work so Rock 'N' Earth makes sense. They also do plantings and things. In order to keep the price down a little bit I did some of it myself. I would like to say that the price could be cheaper but it was probably fair."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Proper installation can make a big difference in your fence's maintenance needs. For example, wood fences that aren't installed correctly can be more likely to rot. While it's possible to DIY a fence installation, hiring a local fence company can mean much less work for you in the long run.

A professional fence installer will make sure your fence is positioned correctly and installed in a way that ensures longevity and limited upkeep requirements.

While there’s no hard evidence to support this idea, driveway gates at least provide an additional obstacle that may deter crime. After all, a would-be burglar or trespasser would have to break into the gate and the property itself. The extra work could encourage them to move onto a house without a driveway gate.

Yes, installing wrought iron fencing will usually require a building permit, as do all types of fencing. Building permits for wrought iron fencing typically cost between $150 and $500, and the price will vary based on where you live and how much your local building department charges. You may also need to pay for a property survey if you’re installing wrought iron fencing on your property line. This type of survey can cost around $500, but it prevents issues with building on neighboring properties, which can be much more expensive in the long run.

Yes, fence posts need to be installed below the frost line to ensure stability and prevent heaving caused by freezing and thawing cycles. The frost line is the depth at which soil freezes during winter. By placing posts below this line, often around 3 to 4 feet deep or as recommended for your specific region, you reduce the risk of the ground shifting, which can lead to leaning or unstable fences. Adequate depth provides better anchoring and helps maintain the fence's integrity, ensuring it remains secure and upright throughout changing seasons.

Post depth for shadowbox fences should be at least two feet deep plus an additional foot for every foot of fence height above four feet. For a standard six-foot fence, this means a minimum depth of 3 feet. This depth helps to protect the structural integrity of your fence in the face of wind, soil movement, and seasonal ground shifts
