"Matt was extremely responsive to my time sensitive request. He went the same day to assess my yard and give me options and quotes. He was on time for the work and did a phenomenal job. The work was at the request of my insurance company.. and the insurance company said that whoever did the work got an A+!! Thank you Matt ! I would not hesitate to use them in the future and I will."

"We had this company do many things for us. They raked up and hauled off pine needles, they refinished and repaired our front and back deck and installed a new railing around the front deck. They also installed new flooring in the master bedroom. They did an excellent job on everything!"

"We recently hired Diamond Cut to redesign our front yard including new pavers, grass, rock, etc. We initially met with a few companies but ultimately chose Diamond Cut. Not only were they more reasonably priced, Dan (owner) took the time to really understand our style and vision for the space. While they were here his team was very courteous and professional. The work was extremely high quality and we have already started talking to Dan about our next project. I would highly recommend Diamond Cut to anyone looking for a full service landscape design company."

"I can't say enough about the great work and service from C&M. They took care of the problem (downed tree) within 24 hours, did a great job of thinning the tree that was left, and cleaned up beautifully. Great price and great work! We will use them again later this season."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

You can never truly stop a maple tree from growing taller, but you can rein in its growth by pruning. Proper pruning helps maintain a safe size for your tree without causing permanent damage. It’s important to start pruning a tree while it’s young, long before it becomes a problem. Otherwise, you may be left with too many hazardous branches to remove at once.

Many species, especially when well-established, are not fans of transplantation. You’ll need to decide if you want to risk splashing the cash, understanding that transplantation isn’t always successful. Again, this is where hiring a pro is helpful, as they can give you all the essential info you need to ensure your tree stands a fighting chance.

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.

DIY is risky and not recommended for large trees; professional services ensure safe removal and proper disposal.

Yes, it is essential to confirm that any tree service company you hire is properly insured before they begin work. Tree removal, trimming, and pruning are dangerous jobs, and proper insurance protects you, your home, and the company from liability in case of accidents or damage. Look for a company that carries both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and do not hire one that cannot provide proof of coverage. When browsing for professionals, you can look for indicators like an “Angi Approved” badge, which signifies that the business meets standards like holding applicable licenses and passing a background check. Keep in mind that a license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are typically voluntary.
