"We found Sustain Scape through Angies list and like their reviews and their focus as described on their website. Mike came by and asked great questions and listened to our ideas. We wanted to get an ideal master plan in place that we could gradually start working against, but wanted to initially focus on hardscape for the back yard.
Mike returned a week or two later with a really nice design that incorporated our thoughts with his design knowledge and ideas. We have an acre and he completed a design for the full property. We really like it -- it is more than worth the $250 we paid.
We asked Mike to bid out the hardscape in the back yard, but everything kept connecting to our outdated pool so we decided to remodel it in conjunction with the hardscape. Mike did another design for us that incorporated the pool updates and bid out the hardscape project as stated above. We went back and forth several times and different ideas and Mike was patient and engaging the whole time.
The crew started work the next week. The pool coping travertine quality was excellent, but as I inspected the patio/path travertine during the install I noticed that the stone quality was not up to my expectations. I promptly discussed with Mike and he came out to inspect. He acknowledged my concerns and said to mark what I didn't like and they would replace it.
After they finished we felt the overall stone quality was good, but not great. However, we really like how the design came through and the quality of workmanship (cutting and installation) exceeded our expectations. The crew that was here, including their leader Jud, was excellent. I've had probably a dozen hardscape projects done and this was by far the best, most professional team I've ever worked with. Every day the on-site manager (Jud) would chat with me and ask about how I felt the project was coming and if there was anything they could do.
Finally, they cleaned up the property nicely.
When we received the final bill, it seemed over what we actually received. Mike mistakenly charged for some of the replaced stone (I take some responsibility for the mistake because of my hands-on nature with the crew didn't help Mike keep track of what was actually used). He apologized and fixed the billing error.

"I approached Masterscapes in a panic as I had a deadline for getting my back patio / yard done for 2 upcoming events I was hosting in my home.  I had just finished putting a pool in and my yard was a huge mess! I ordered beautiful travertine, a pergola and artificial turf. I had only 3 weeks total to get it all done , including picking out which travertine I wanted and waiting for it to be shipped. They got the pergola up in 2 days, the tile took 2 days 3 days after the pergola went up and the turf in a half day 4 days after they were finished with the tile.  Everything was stunning, efficient and all of their crews were professional and friendly! I plan on using them again and would highly recommend!

"I purchased a mechanical awning from Awnings by Design 15 years ago. Unfortunately they have since gone out of business. One of our 2 awnings extended too far, the arms fully extended and could not retract. I did not know who I could call for assistance. We went on Angis list and Fernando from A to Z Shades contacted me about the work. I qualified him over the phone and he cited 12 years experience working on mechanical awnings. He said almost 100% it was a broken limit switch on the motor and it needed to be replaced. He provided an estimate over the phone. Fernando and associate came to our house on time and prepared with ladders and tools. He is very polite and trustworthy. They installed the new motor and tested the system. It worked just as promised. They cleaned up after doing their work. As a bonus they noticed a non automated shade was crooked. He recommended we let it sit in the sun to increase the kink.
