Mike and his team provided excellent service that was within budget and finished on time. After an initial consultation, we received plans that checked off every need/want that we had. The pricing/contract was very straightforward and all questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. The team went above and beyond in certain areas and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who is looking for landscape design and/or implementation.

Everyone was was very professional and very easy to work. The crew started on the day we agreed on and finished on time, with all vegetation being very healthy. If I ever have a question they are fast to respond understanding that I am new to the AZ climate and need some extra hand holding. It feels like a wonderful resort in my backyard!

Just completed a major project with Sustain Scape. Mike (owner) was punctual, knowledgeable and great to work with. Chris back at the office was very informative and responsive. The estimate process was painless (price was very reasonable compared with other estimates) and the work began the following week. Although it took 2 days longer than projected, the price never changed. The crew worked hard the whole time (in 110 + heat) and when they were done we were so pleased with the results. We replaced our entire irrigation and lighting systems and did some minor planting refreshes as well as some other odds and ends. Mike came himself he next day and took care of a couple minor things we noticed within an hour of my asking him to do so. I only wish they did routine maintenance - but I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Don't hesitate to have them do any major landscaping projects you may have

Three days before they were going to come we got a call that they 'forgot they were moving" and would be too far to come and do the job. What business does not know when they are moving and will be too far away? They should have been upfront and honest and told us that from the start.

It did not go anywhere. One appointment made, a week in advance. Cancelled. Set up new appointment at a later time on the same day. Now 3 (THREE) HOURS prior to appointment received a call from "Cynthia" who informed me "We are no longer taking any new clients, appointment cancelled." CLICK. What a nice, polite way to do business. If this is the way you do business, I am DELIGHTED to see what rude boors you are up front.

They did a wonderful job every month took care of my grass and fix what needed to be fix. Overall they are professional and did a awesome job

My yard came out great! I was happy it was hard to find a landscaper that did a great job.

They did a great job my plants are looking better.  The crew where professional and care about my concerns.

We  have had continuing problems with our previous landscaping service, who used to be highly rated on Angies List, then their ratings started falling, and now they are no longer on the site...  I called and made an appointment with Sustain Scape for an estimate at my home, due to their high ratings.  Nobody showed up for the appointment.  I called the office and the woman who answers the phone said she didn't see me on the schedule, asked me to hold on, then came back and apologized, said she had forgotten to put it in the computer.  She said Mike could come right over, and he actually did come over around 10 minutes later.  We went over what I needed done.  He said he'd get back to me in a few days with a formal quote of what he recommended be done, and for regular ongoing maintenance.  2 weeks later I have heard nothing, no quote.  I would not recommend this company.

,I asked Mike of SustainScape and two other landscape firms that are highly rated on Yelp for a design and cost estimate to execute the design for my front and side yards. I am very particular about my landscaping. It is my hobby and what I wanted is a little different than the usual.
The other two firms were also very professional and I am pretty confident that their work is good. All three were pretty close in price.
But Mike of Sustain Scape was the only one who really read and responded to all the items in the brief that I had prepared. Mike's design  reflected the needs and the style I had outlined. And, in addition, he brought ideas that improved it in many ways, all based on the problems that I had outlined in the brief, as things I wanted solved.
As professionals, we all like to stick to the things we have done before, to produce a result that has worked before. But Mike had the confidence to respond to my difficult requests with very creative ideas for things that they don't do every day,  and then execute them flawlessly.  
Mike has very high standards. When he inspected one piece of stonework that I thought looked fine, he had his crew tear it down partially and rebuild it the way he wanted it. And his crew works to very high standards. They consistently surprised me with the extra bit of thought and quality that they put into their work. I see it and appreciate it in little details every day as I enjoy my front yard.
Bottom line: Sustain Scape exceeded my very high expectations.

The first meeting was last Friday.  We met with Chris for the initial consult and we were very, very impressed with her knowledge, experience and communication skills.  We are off to a great start.

I picked this company because the reviews included a small job that they did well. When I called, I asked specifically for help planting some shrubs and weeding. The person that came out made it clear she had no interest in helping with these tasks. She was interested in removing 6" of soil in the entire yard and replacing it with top soil. When I asked about the original tasks instead, she said she her boss worked hard for his degree and couldn't be associated with a yard like ours. That seems pretty rude. It also meant I was left with shrubs in pots with planting further delayed as I try to locate someone else who doesn't feel they are too good for simple planting and weeding. Very disappointing. If they do not want to do small jobs, they should simply say so when people call.

Unfortunately, I had an extremely unpleasant experience with this company.  I experienced a combination of very poor customer service and $250 design fee that provided very little to no design or followup.  On their website, the design fee included a CAD diagram, etc.; however, I did not receive this, nor much of anything else expected for that fee.
Mike cancelled the first two appointments and then finally sent his assistant, Kris out for the initial call. While Kris was so wonderful and helpful, I had hired Mike to create the landscape design. She took pictures of my patio area and said Mike would come back out to meet with me before creating the design.  I didn't hear from him and had to call him to schedule a time for him to come out. He created a very simple hand drawing of my backyard.  While it looked pretty in different colors, the only thing "new" that he designed was a small curved area of the patio; the rest was something I had already said I wanted to do. There was no CAD diagram, which I wanted so it would be easy to make modifications to the design as needed.  When I called Mike again to come out to tweak the design, he said he was busy and scheduled for a week out.  He never showed up and had his assistant call 5 minutes before the appointment to say he couldn't make it.
He never called to apologize or reschedule. I decided not to use his services and hired Think Green Landscaping, who not only did an amazing design and used the CAD program, but it was FREE and their customer service and final product was amazing.  
It's extremely unprofessional to charge someone $250 for a design fee and then provide poor customer service and a ridiculously simplistic partial design, as well as make no effort to meet with the client to review/modify the design. Buyer beware on expecting a good design and customer service from this company.  Sadly I was hoodwinked and lost out on $250 but at least did not give this company the thousands of dollars I spent on my new patio.

I called Sustain Scape two weeks ago for an appointment. One of the first things they said was that they're booking work out into the summer, so if we needed something done in the spring, well.... I explained that I was primarily interested in hardscaping, so I wasn't in a rush for spring planting. We made an appointment for Monday at 3pm. On Monday at 3:30, I called, because Mike hadn't shown up yet. The woman apologized, and called me back 30 minutes later, explaining that Mike had me down for Tuesday at 3pm. Accidents happen... Tuesday, Mike showed up on time. He was here for about 45 minutes. I explained everything I was looking for, and at the end, he said, Mike was very nice, but at the end he said, "Ok. I'll go back and put together a design and an estimate. I just need the $250 deposit." That was news to me. I explained that NOBODY had told me there was a $250 deposit, and that I only wanted an estimate and a rough idea/draft to know what he was thinking about. He said he was sorry, but that he needed a deposit. I said I'm sorry too, because you've wasted your time. He wasted my time too. I stayed home Monday afternoon and again Tuesday afternoon. I never would have scheduled an appointment with him, had I known I would have to pay for an estimate. Outrageous.

Courteous, on time and professional.  This is the fourth time I have used them.  They have done clean up jobs to tree planting and sprinkler system work.
Fair price, always good work.  Mike's crew is knowledgeable and professional.  They are respectful of the plants and do not just chop things down.

The process was very smooth. Mike came out to bid the job himself. Very friendly and on time. Once we agreed and set a date, his workers arrived on time and were very pleasant. The job site was left pretty clean for the most part, considering all of the dust and chaos involved with digging up dirt. We're very happy we went with SustainScape.

Not at all up to expectations.  Biggest problem was lack of communication such as un-returned calls, e-mails for me to schedule or inquire about either services initially planned, or future services.  Mike, the owner, I must say, was professional and polite at all times.
