"Nate is a real pro locksmith . Skilled and charges reasonable amounts . He repaired stuck deadbolt on kitchen door and also fixed front door lock that prior locksmith could not do. Wish I had called Nate first. He got this done plus re-keyed a lock ( all in about 30 minutes) and showed up when he said he would. He also pointed out things the first locksmith did wrong . He is a credit to the profession . THIS IS THE GUY TO CALL !"

"The key Doctor was great. He rekeyed our new home despite the locks giving him issues and a few needing to be replaced. He got the work done the same day we closed and let us sleep comfortably in the new home knowing we'd be safe. Highly recommend. Great nice guy as well."

"I had called another locksmith yet they would not give me a reasonable estimate, kept saying it will depend, said they would probably have to drill the lock & put in a brand new one, so I called this place, to my surprise he gave me a reasonable estimate, only saying that sometimes locks can be difficult... in other words he sounded straightforward & honest. He arrived within 20 mins, during Phx rush-hour, (so already slightly impressed), He is young, yet dressed like a pro, tools, van, the whole package. My truck pulls my camper, so I somehow locked my keys in my camper, he picked the lock in like 5 or 6 mins. Seriously, he did not damage or drill the lock, just picked it, so my key still worked, then I realized my truck key was in my truck, it was also locked! It took him a little longer because my truck has a fob, yet he picked the door & I didn't need to buy a new fob for my truck. He cares about helping people, really a rare character trait these days. I am Highly recommend LockJock!"

"Really great company to deal with. Very prompt and professional. They were able to get someone to our house 3 hours after we called to set up an appointment. The locksmith who came was very nice, very courteous, and got the job done quickly. He rekeyed 8 locks and fixed a latch that the previous owners of our home had broken.
Also, the best part was (and I'm not sure if this was because we were a referral or if this is a general policy of the company) they cap all costs at $75! Very affordable and excellent service. I would strongly recommend using them.

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

If your key breaks in a lock, first remain calm and avoid forcing the broken piece further in. You may be able to remove it yourself if a portion of the key is still protruding from the lock. To aid removal, lubricate the keyhole with a graphite-based spray. Then, try using tools like pliers, tweezers, a bobby pin, or even a jigsaw blade to gently grasp and pull the broken piece out. If these methods don't work, you can't reach the key, or you're concerned about damaging the lock, it's best to call a professional locksmith for assistance.

Rekeying your own locks is a low-cost task that prevents you from having to replace the locks themselves completely. The first couple of times you rekey a lock may be challenging because this is an intermediate DIY task. You can purchase a rekey kit from most hardware stores, but make sure you’re buying the kit from the brand of lock in your home that you’re going to rekey.

Deadbolts are solid and durable as can be, but the pin and tumbler can still be forced open, thus making this type of lock susceptible to picking. Most types of deadbolts are harder to pick than a traditional spring-based lock, though. It requires a specialized lock pick and a tension wrench to align all of the pins, thus unlocking the door.

Locksmiths recommend changing your locks once every seven years for the best security at your home. Locks can wear out over time, so you should inspect your locks regularly. A higher grade lock provides you with more cycles than those with a lower grade.

Regrettably, entirely pick-proof locks don't exist unless you opt for keyless varieties. Locks advertised as "pick-proof" are, in reality, more resilient against lock-picking and bumping attempts because of complex mechanisms consisting of pins and sidebars. These locks work like this—they assign two tasks to the key, enhancing security by making unauthorized entry more challenging.
