"In preparation for selling our home we wanted to take our tub and shower from dingy to looking new again. Andy, the owner came out and gave me an estimate. When the work was completed there were no surprises with the final bill and the estimate price was exactly what we paid. The whole process took one day and then their technician returned for a final visit for touch up after drying. The job scheduling time was very quick but I did have to wait a few days for the touch up to be completed as their schedule was already full. The touch up itself took less than 90 minutes and wasn't a big deal. I highly recommend this company for great workmanship, customer service and price!"

As a general guideline, resealing is often recommended every 12 to 18 months, but some sources suggest it could be as often as every few months or at least once a year.

The type of sealant is a major factor: water-based sealants may need reapplication every six months to a year, while more durable solvent-based sealants can last for five to 10 years. Additionally, factors like heavy kitchen traffic, frequent use of acidic cleaners, and lighter granite colors may require more frequent sealing to prevent staining.

To determine if your countertops need resealing, you can perform a simple water test. Place a few drops of water or a wet paper towel on an inconspicuous area of the granite. After 10 to 15 minutes, check the spot. If the water has beaded up, the seal is still intact. If the water has been absorbed and darkened the stone, it's time to apply a new coat of sealant. You can choose to seal the granite yourself or hire a professional to ensure it's done correctly.

The resin should be periodically sealed to help prevent it from wearing down or becoming porous. Very sharp or very hot objects can damage the resin surface, and there’s no way to fully repair it if that happens, so we recommend treating the counters well.

Concrete countertops require regular upkeep and can be harder to maintain than other materials. For daily cleaning, use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner and avoid harsh, acidic products that can damage the sealant. It's important to wipe up spills immediately, especially from acidic substances, as concrete stains easily. To prevent scratches, always use a cutting board. The countertops must be resealed periodically—at least once a year—to protect them from stains and moisture. Be aware that concrete is also prone to cracking over time and may require repairs.

If the damage is minor, you can repair countertops without replacing them. You can also resurface a laminate countertop rather than replace it when it gets old and dingy. Countertop resurfacing is a relatively easy project, though it can be time-consuming, so you may prefer to hire a pro to do this for you.

Rounded countertop edges, like bullnose or eased edges, are the least likely to chip. Their smooth, curved design helps distribute impact more evenly, unlike sharp corners, which often take the brunt of a hit. Also, unlike pointed edges, rounded edges won't snag on material like dishcloths or clothing.
