The RV Awning Company thrives to provide an economical alternative to the big box RV dealers who often overcharge with limited selection. We bring the shade! With the highest quality fabrics and array of colors to choose from, we are the best choice for your RV’s awning. Whether you have a toy hauler, 5th wheel, diesel pusher, travel trailer or coach, we have the product, fabric and experience to put you back in the shade.

"Initially, things were fine. Chester and his son showed up kind of on time. They rescheduled for a Saturday, showed up on Saturday but never called. Good thing we were home. After performing the awning replacement Chester and his son left. The following day, I tried to roll the awning up but the spring had not been rewound. I called and left a message for Chester to return my call, he never did. A few days later, Chester and his son showed up out of nowhere. When I explained the problem to him, without looking he immediately said the spring was broken. Guess what, the spring is not broken. It is in my opinion, he is not willing to do any warranty work. He wants to charge no matter what. At first, I agreed to the spring replacement and also called about an LED light strip. He wanted to charge $160 plus $250 to replace the spring and install the light strip. The light strip installation is a matter of 15 minutes and costs $114. When he left to go pick up the spring, he was gone for two hours. I’m sure he just went home, went into the backyard, and dug through a bunch of old awningsuntil he found the right length spring. Throughout all of this fiasco, he was terrible as far as customer service is concerned. Did not return calls, did not answer his phone, and left me totally in the dark wondering if he was going to show or not. Bottom line, Chester is unreliable, not punctual, and tends to his customers when he feels like it. My guess is all the good reviews are from family members and friends. It’s unfortunate because, if he had just taken care of the spring issue I would have gone ahead and paid him the $250 for the light strip the costs $114. Now, they will never get any more business from me, I will not refer them, and I will dissuade people who mention thinking about using Chester and his crew."

"It didn't go well at all. I asked for a quote and provided a detailed list of work tote quoted. Their ad says no free quotes - but when I asked about it they told me no problem. I confirmed that they had received my job list and they agreed to provide a quote. They wanted to come out and look at the job after two weeks. They showed up late for that - and the owner Russ Alexander came instead of Tyler the person originally reviewing the job. Mr. Alexander came with no pen - no paper - no tape measure and wrote nothing down. I called afterwards and was told it would be a week to get a quote. No quote came. I sent an email and asked them to let me know if they were not going to quote it - no problem - it would just help to know so I could move on to other providers. the never returned a text or an email - they just because non responsive. This is a very unprofessional organization - they are either lazy or high."

24 years of experience

Shade Industries® specializes in providing beautiful, aesthetically pleasing shade, where and when you want it. We design, fabricate and install the finest shade sails, tension fabric shade structures, patio shade covers, architectural shades, pool hat shade sails and shade canopies in Arizona. We use powerful software programs to assist with design. After determining where you would like shade, we discuss the times of day and the times of year that may have more importance to you. Shade Industries focus has always been on custom Shade Sails, but we also offer shade structures, lace-on panels, awnings and permanent umbrellas. We have found that by offering many different products, we can most often fulfill your shade needs. Shade Industries®, Sails Managers meet with clients to discuss project requirements and discuss design ideas. We then use software to assist with design and convey our ideas to our clients. In almost every case, we fabricate our own steel and sew our own shade cloth. Then our employees install the product. By controlling all aspects of the process, we are able to provide a better product to our customers. Shade Industries products are manufactured in the USA. Our manufacturing and testing facility is located in Phoenix, Arizona. While we currently have offices in Arizona and California, we welcome projects anywhere. Depending on your project and location, we will have one of our Sails Managers come to your location, or work with you via telephone and email. We strive to be an environmentally friendly company. We attempt to complete installations and designs that will be low impact to the surrounding environment and have implemented policies regarding recycling and limiting waste.

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Yes, most awnings include warranties for materials and installation. Confirm terms before purchasing.

Stainless steel and copper are the most durable and will probably last the longest, especially when you compare them to fabric awnings. Steel is the most popular if your budget isn’t a top priority, but some people prefer copper awnings over steel because they are lighter, which makes them easier to install. Aluminum offers a more budget-friendly metal awning option that is still attractive and offers some durability, especially compared to fabric.

Acrylic, polyester, and vinyl are common options. Choose based on durability, UV resistance, and style.

When contacting an awning installer, there are a few questions to ask to make sure the process runs smoothly. To have the awning of your dreams installed to shade you from the sun, ask your installer some of these questions to get you started:

  • How long will this project take to complete?

  • Do you have insurance coverage?

  • Will I need a building permit for this project? Who is responsible for obtaining this?

  • Do you have references from previous clients?

  • Do you have photos of previously completed projects?

Metal awnings are durable, low-maintenance, and provide shade and weather protection.
