Initially, things were fine. Chester and his son showed up kind of on time. They rescheduled for a Saturday, showed up on Saturday but never called. Good thing we were home. After performing the awning replacement Chester and his son left. The following day, I tried to roll the awning up but the spring had not been rewound. I called and left a message for Chester to return my call, he never did. A few days later, Chester and his son showed up out of nowhere. When I explained the problem to him, without looking he immediately said the spring was broken. Guess what, the spring is not broken. It is in my opinion, he is not willing to do any warranty work. He wants to charge no matter what. At first, I agreed to the spring replacement and also called about an LED light strip. He wanted to charge $160 plus $250 to replace the spring and install the light strip. The light strip installation is a matter of 15 minutes and costs $114. When he left to go pick up the spring, he was gone for two hours. I’m sure he just went home, went into the backyard, and dug through a bunch of old awningsuntil he found the right length spring. Throughout all of this fiasco, he was terrible as far as customer service is concerned. Did not return calls, did not answer his phone, and left me totally in the dark wondering if he was going to show or not. Bottom line, Chester is unreliable, not punctual, and tends to his customers when he feels like it. My guess is all the good reviews are from family members and friends. It’s unfortunate because, if he had just taken care of the spring issue I would have gone ahead and paid him the $250 for the light strip the costs $114. Now, they will never get any more business from me, I will not refer them, and I will dissuade people who mention thinking about using Chester and his crew.
Response from RV Awning Company
"Hi [Member Name Removed]: I certainly understand your frustration and apologize to you! If it were only as you have outlined... The course of action from our perspective differs, but at the end of the day, you are the customer and we respect that completely! On September 12th, you ordered a fabric change at your location. We processed that request and the work order was completed within 3 days time to your satisfaction. At that time, you requested that we leave the awning deployed. We did. 60 days later you called, left a voice mail. We responded within 48 hours by arriving at your location. Uniquely, our services do not require our customers to be restricted in attempts to meet our schedule. Because awnings are an exterior appliance we do not require the customers presence to make adjustments. Therefore, unless prompted by the customer, we do not schedule hard dates or times when responding to these requests. We simply assign the work order based on geography. Interestingly enough. because of the profile of our customer base, 85% of the customers are present when we arrive and the issues are addressed. This may not be the most desired process from either perspective, but we could delay our arrival, change our arrival, cancel or reschedule over several phone calls. (all of which take time and are frustrating for us and the customer) We have found that being present, capable and equipped far outweighs excuses over the telephone. Our published pricing for installing a new run of WeatherProof LED's wired to a switch is at the price reported. When we departed your site after diagnosing the spring, we shared that we would return at the close of the day to make the repair. You agreed. We returned at 5pm your response was... "Didn't you get my texts? I will just take care of all of it myself" We arrived as instructed happy to make the repair., It was not until we read this review that we understood that you harbored any issues. We always go the extra mile for our customers. So if there is a way we can ."

I would consider using him again in the future if he were to make this right.
