Customers say: Quick response

"Once in a rare while, you have a opportunity to encounter a great artisan/craftsman! When we decided to replace carpeting and ceramic tile on our entire main floor living space, Desert Hardwood Flooring was enthusiastically recommended by Ms. Sandy Griffis of YCCA (Yavapai County Contractors Association.) Owner, Sylvan Incao, of Desert Hardwood Flooring is an extremely detailed and articulate individual who painstakingly measures for precise dimensions with perfect results. Sylvan and his assistant, Jesse, arrived at the pre-arranged time each morning and before they called it quits for the day, cleaned up both interior and exterior work areas. To keep our expert workers happy and nourished, each day we provided hot lunches and snacks to replenish all those burnt calories used to install the fabulous wood floors and creative entry way tile insert. Needing new floors? Look no further than Desert Hardwood Flooring and hire the BEST!!! Thank you, Sylvan, for your dedication to your craft as well as being an honest and outstanding professional!! Customers say: True professional

"The fact that Fred does the work himself is a big plus for me. Gave me good advice on grout choice. Minimal clean up was needed after job was completed. It's not a big deal, but I feel I should have been reimbursed for the Thinset, Grout, removal of backer board and usage of my tools. (i.e., Soldering torch). I also completed the final chalking. Although, Fred did offer to do it once I cleaned off the old chalking. I feel this should have been part of what I paid for. But like I said, NO BIG DEAL, I'm fully capable of doing the work and I'd rather get things back to normal."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

FAQs for flooring projects in Dewey, AZ

The cost of flooring installation is $3,000 for the average homeowner. This cost can range from $1,500 to $4,500, depending on the project size, flooring material, and any special features. For example, if stairs need new flooring, you can expect to pay about $11 to $160 per step. Additionally, hardwood flooring costs significantly more than linoleum, with hardwood ranging from $6 to $22 per square foot and linoleum costing $3 to $7 per square foot.

Believe it or not, adding new flooring—especially floors like hardwood, laminate, tile, or vinyl—can add significant value to your home. If you update your flooring close to when you sell your home, you can see up to a 70% ROI on your new floors. Adding new flooring to your home is one of the quickest ways to make the whole room look refreshed and new, which is a positive point for selling.

While you certainly can install new flooring yourself, it may not always be the best idea. Since the condition of the floors is a significant component of your property’s value, it’s important that your project looks professionally done. If not, you run the risk of needing to have them replaced again before selling your home. If you’re looking to save money on the cost of floor installation, consider removing the old flooring yourself to save on labor costs.

When it comes to flooring installers, licensing laws vary from state to state. Even if your state doesn’t require your flooring installer to have a license, your municipality or city might, so it’s a good idea to check with your town before getting started. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines.

Hiring an unlicensed flooring installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

It takes about one to three days for a two-person crew to lay 800 to 1,000 square feet of flooring daily. Remember that removal of existing flooring and additional prep work is considered during this time, and it’s likely that you won’t be able to pass through the room easily. In addition, you can expect lots of hammering and other noise from power tools during installation, so it’s best to plan accordingly.
