Well it rained for days so we rescheduled for this past Tuesday. Never showed up, I called, sent a text that if I had gotten the date wrong I was sorry. NEVER HEARD THE FIRST THING FROM HIM. "Scott and his team did an excellent job on excavation and removal of dirt and clay, and graded property. Our property had a sloped backyard, that led to water retention at the base of our home. He removed the dirt and clay in a timely fashion, and built a 3-foot-high retaining wall 180 feet long. All of our concerns were addressed, and questions were answered throughout the project. He did an excellent job with cleanup and removal as well. We would not hesitate to use him for future projects if needed."

The lifespan of pavers varies based on many factors. Material is the key component, with concrete, stone, and brick pavers lasting up to 100 years, while clay pavers usually only last around 25 years. To maximize your pavers’ lifespan, you should keep your paver patio or walkway clean, add sealant every few years, and keep the joints sealed with polymeric sand as needed.

The best ways to increase the lifespan of your driveway are to carry out proper maintenance and get repairs done quickly. First, reseal your driveway every one to three years to protect it from the elements. If you start to notice significant cracks, hire a professional to diagnose the problem before it gets more serious. You can also use sand instead of salt when de-icing your driveway (since salt is corrosive) and clean your driveway annually using a pressure washer to keep it in tip-top shape.

In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. This permit costs between $50 and $300 in most cases. Most municipalities will also require a certified and insured contractor do the work relating to the apron and curb cut. You can contact your building department or ask your paving company if you need a permit. Your driveway professional will usually pull the permit for you.

Your city or county will have guidelines about the minimum and maximum width and length of private roads. The average private road is 12 feet wide, and length, of course, depends on your property. Requirements also depend on the amount of traffic and types of vehicles your road experiences. Check with local ordinances before planning a road on your property.
