"We had 1 issue after installation and they came out right away & fixed it. Great attitudes and were on time as scheduled. Very professional crew. We had just remodeled the basement for 1100 sq ft living space to be added to the home, so I didn’t expect the basement to be such a mess afterwards, so would recommend them emphasize that the client will be cleaning all that up after the install. Very messy after the foundation was dug up around the whole inside perimeter. We still haven’t had the money to replace the new flooring that was pulled up. I should have paid more attention to the contract. That’s on me, not them."

"

First, I contacted another company and was unable to get in contact with them again after getting a quote. I called Scott Henning, owner of Techne Concrete, he answered all my questions and gave me a quote right away which was better than the original person I contacted. He was up front about other costs that could occur due to unforeseen work as well as preparation of the site and ect. I was also having some carpentry work done in the same area and he was accommodating to work around the other professionals. Actually, in my area, we received a significant amount of rain prior to my project beginning and had to push the schedule back a week and Scott was proactive and flexible in rescheduling .

Work began on time and every thing went as planned. When small problems arose, Scott was very quick to find a solution and keep the ball rolling. He answered all my questions along the way and was easy to get in contact with and available on site while all work was being done. I asked him to do a few extra things ( score the concrete and take the fence down) which he did.

I have had compliments on my new patio and have since passed Scott's info along to other people.

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.
