"The entire experience was good. Rob Carroll kept in touch about scheduling a visit to provide an estimate, and later, about when work could be performed. He gave his honest opinion about whether a few items on my list needed repair. The workmen were professional, friendly and again, kept me informed about the progress. When I asked about a loose lock on an exterior door, they offered to pick up a new lock set and install it for me. The bill came in under budget. Thoughtful and much appreciated service! I will contact them for help on any future home repair needs."

Customers say: Quick response

"C & G handyman came to my house for small multiple projects, from interacting with him to him completing the job, I was blown away. The job he does is superior. This guy is very knowledgeable and know his job very well. The price? very budget friendly. Arthur is very honest and have integrity. He arrived for the job the time he stated he will be there - on time, did superior job. This is the guy I will be calling for all my handyman services from now on. I got more business cards from him to give to my friends. This guy is the best. I have no single complain. Good price too, beats all other estimates I got. I am extremely satisfied with the job he did for me. Thumbs up for this company."

Doors questions, answered by experts

A door sill is the horizontal part of the door frame at the bottom, while a door jamb consists of the vertical parts of the frame on either side. The door sill serves as a threshold, sealing the bottom of the door, while the door jamb provides structural support and houses the hinges and latch. Both are essential components of a door frame, with the door sill acting as a transition point and the door jamb providing stability and functionality.

Yes, door sills are necessary components for most doorways. They serve several crucial functions, including weatherproofing, structural support, and aesthetic enhancement. Without a door sill, you risk water infiltration, drafts, and potential damage to the door and surrounding structure. Therefore, while they may seem small and often overlooked, door sills play a significant role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of a building's entryways.

You will need to cut or break a boomstick so it is wider than the door and long enough to anchor outside the door frame. Extend the broomstick horizontally under the doorknob, ensuring it's snug. Now using long screws and a drill, anchor the broomstick to the wall outside the door frame. Remember that you won't be able to open the door afterward. Do not proceed with this hack if your home has no alternative exit.

There are a few different reasons why shotgun houses have two separate front doors. Shotgun homes with two front doors are also called double shotgun homes, which can be two individual homes that share a wall. Other reasons include improved ventilation throughout the home and better access to other rooms.

While sliding glass doors are designed to be rainproof and weather resistant, they cannot be considered 100% watertight in conditions with heavy rain or winds. However, maintaining a door properly and ensuring that seals are tight can dramatically reduce risks of water intrusion.
