"As an Angie Service provider and customer, I am rather disappointed in Robbie Redleaf, owner of R & A Residential Services. I have used for quite some time as a customer whenever I needed a project completed. I recently began using Angie as a service provider and oftentimes I choose to subcontract projects. I recently chose to subcontract Robbie for 3 separate projects. We lost the first 2 projects because the customers were unhappy with the price quoted. The price I quoted was the price Robbie provided in the estimate he submitted to me. To my surprise, Robbie gave the third customer his quote directly although he had agreed to provide the estimate to me since I was his customer. He placed my customer and myself, in a rather untenable position. I informed my customer that I do not fault her at all and was pleased that she had someone to complete her project but that I would not be legally responsible for the outcome if Robbie failed to meet her expectations. I have spoken to her since Robbie completed most of the project but had not returned to finish at that time. She stated that she was satisfied with his performance and paid him in full. She has since called me for help on other projects. What Robbie did was unethical and reflects poorly both his business and himself. Most importantly, his behavior reflects poorly on and service providers. It is my hope that Robbie will accept responsibility for his behavior and make a proper anends the everyone he has negatively affected. I wish him well."

We are a small company that believes debt is a bad thing, not only for us but also for our clients. We therefore maintain very little overhead and pass this cost reduction on to the client. We do most of the work ourselves to protect our quality standards of the finished product. Payment terms will be completely laid out in a contractual agreement ahead of time to avoid surprises. Payment is primarily determined by the length of the work. Less than 1 week - due on completion. More than 1 week - labor costs to date due each week, material costs to date due on completion or every 30 days. The company virtually makes nothing until the job is completed as agreed and final payment is received.

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

If you use your garage often, then yes, a garage screen is absolutely worth the investment. Whether you use your garage as a home gym, a workshop, or for some other hobby, there are few things more enjoyable than allowing some fresh air and natural light in without having to worry about bugs. Plus, , in exchange for garage insulation, a garage door screen can provide ventilation that might improve the air quality if you’re producing sawdust or using paints, varnishes, or other potential harmful chemicals.

If you’re not keen on using a traditional doggie door, there are some alternatives. One popular option is a solid, insulated door that you can lock when you’re out of the home for added security. You can also opt for a doggie screen, which you can lift and lower to allow your pooch access to the outdoors. These are a bit more convenient to use than a regular exterior door, although security could be an issue. You can also install a screen door with a small opening for your pup to prevent bugs from coming inside as your dog exits.

While homeowners can spend anywhere from $1,500 to $15,000 on new bow windows, the average price for bow windows is $3,900. Some frames cost more than others and are worth considering if you’re on a budget.

For example, vinyl is the most budget-friendly material, while wooden frames have the highest price tag, especially once you factor in the amount of maintenance and the lifespan of the material. Larger bow windows will also cost more than smaller ones, so keep this in mind while shopping.

Awning windows can have screens, but it depends on your manufacturer. If your awning window does have a screen, it will be on the interior side so it doesn’t get in the way when you crank the window open. Having the screen on the inner part of the window also makes it easier to clean from inside your home.

The cost to repair a window is $400 on average, with prices ranging from $75 to $1,500, depending on the window size, the broken part, and the window type. Broken glass and window frames are typically the most expensive window repairs, while minor fixes like repairing the track, seal, and sash are more affordable. Other cost factors include:

  • Number of panes

  • Window material

  • Accessibility

  • Labor costs

  • Emergency window repair
