"These guys were great! From Kevin who did the initial roof inspection and quote to Jose and the crew they did everything discussed and then some. I’ve some experience with roofing and considered their quote reasonable, fair and very competitive. My roof was about 33 squares worth and with about 3/4 of the old roof having two layers of shingles to remove they were able to complete it in one day. They used tarps around the entire house to cover flower beds and catch debris. I look forward to working with these guys in the future and will be recommending them to friends."

Warranties often reflect this, with about 12 years for a one-ply system and 15 years for a two-ply system. For context, this lifespan is shorter than other common roofing materials like wood or asphalt shingles, which typically last 20 to 30 years, with high-quality versions lasting up to 50 years.

When installed and maintained properly, a cedar shake roof should last up to 60 years. Severe weather and high winds will damage your roof, reducing its life span. Expect a shorter life span if the roofer didn't use top-grade material, didn’t have cedar shake expertise, didn’t create the proper ventilation, or didn’t use the correct fasteners. Keeping up with maintenance will help it last longer. It’s also a good idea to get roof inspections on a regular basis to help spot repairs before they become major issues.
