"I was so impressed with Cardona Tree Service that I even paid them extra! I was extremely impressed with the skill, speed, fair price, punctuality, and professionalism of the team of two who took down a huge tree (upwards of 50' tall) that was in a precarious position so close to my home and an out building. I watched in awe as these two worked as a flawless team with speed and efficiency and made it look so easy! Bravo, guys!"

"Removed 30-year-old silver maple that had several large limbs broken off in an electrical & windstorm. They removed the tree, the trunk, and the large roots surrounding the tree. Then they smoothed the ground so we can plant grass. They are good communicators. They listened to what we wanted done, then explained what they would do and how they would do it. I highly recommend them!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.

The best plan of action for an unhealthy or unsafe tree will depend on its condition. An arborist can recommend whether trimming or removal is the right call for your tree. Preventive tree trimming can keep trees safe and healthy, so make regular tree trimming a part of your yard maintenance plan.

Generally, you do not have the right to take fruit from a neighbor's tree, even if the branches overhang your property. The fruit is considered the property of the tree's owner. While you may have the right to trim branches that cross into your yard, the fruit on them typically still belongs to your neighbor. However, laws can vary by state and municipality. In some areas, branches that extend into your yard or trees that straddle a property line may entitle you to some of the fruit. The best course of action is to speak with your neighbor, as they may be happy to share. If a conversation is not possible, check your local regulations before picking any fruit.

It’s possible, although a lot depends on the cause of damage and what steps you take. If the remaining parts of the maple tree are alive and not under attack by disease or pests, they can often be saved even if large portions of the maple tree have died. Frequent watering, careful pruning, mulch, and any recommended fungicides or insecticides can all help with survival.
