"Nathan was amazing. He painted our very difficult 15’ ceiling. He didn’t tape anything. He did it all free hand. It was like Michelangelo painting the Sistine ceiling.☺️. Nathan is a perfectionist. Will definitely call him when we want the house exterior done."

"I found Viking Cleaning Solutions by word of mouth. These days it’s hard to find anybody willing to work or even pick up the phone for that matter. I lucked out when I found this company for more than their professional and thorough cleaning services. I’ve used cleaning companies in the past and some do an ok job but more often than not I end up finishing up areas they missed or just skipped. When I called Viking, they answered the phone and were in site in no time to start working. The end product was the most thorough I’ve encountered from any cleaning business. Not only that, after talking with the owner I learned they do painting as well. I was stoked since I had a house that has needed to be painted for a while. Viking came through again and I couldn’t believe the level of detail they adhered to. I wasn’t expecting the end result to be what it was. They completely transformed the look of the house by the attention to detail alone. If you’re looking for professional cleaning or painting services you won’t be disappointed with Viking Cleaning Solutions. I’m now a repeat customer"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Think hard before deciding to German schmear your home’s exterior brickwork. If you do not like the look, you are pretty much stuck with it, as it is impossible to remove this finish the way you can remove paint. You risk damaging the underlying brick if you have to chisel and acid-wash it away. It will also take a very long time, and remnants of the mortar wash will always remain.

Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:

  • Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot

  • Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project

  • Encapsulation: $4 per square foot

  • Enclosure: $10 per square foot

  • Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot

Yes, paint thinner can damage some surfaces. Specifically, it can cause a lot of damage to laminate flooring if applied incorrectly.

WD-40 is an effective way to remove glue and other sticky residue from many surfaces, including wood. Spray the WD-40 on the area, allow the product to sit for a few minutes, then carefully wipe away the residue. As with other adhesive removal methods, test the WD-40 on an inconspicuous spot first to ensure it won’t damage the finish.

It’s best to use a slightly slower-working paint remover that is safer to use, such as mineral spirits, because the strongest spray paint removers are often also the most toxic. Many of these products contain dangerous chemicals, such as methylene chloride, which the EPA banned for most uses in April 2024 after it was established as a major carcinogen.
