"Subcontractors were mostly good, but management of them was lacking. I had to personally supervise them because the on site contractor rarely stayed very long. Told the trim finish crew to leave because they did not know how to install crown molding. Got another crew that knew what they were doing. They never asked for periodic payments during the job (as is typical); presented one huge bill at the end. Holland homes builds nice homes, but I would not recommend them for small jobs like mine because you do not get the best crews and you have to wait for them to fit you into their schedule."

"They did an excellent job all around. They did the work without me being on site and they were very reliable and unsupervised. I would definitely hire them again and I would highly recommend them."

We are a growing company which I started as a part time business in the fall of 1997. Then in the spring of 2003 I licensed and insured my business as some growth was developing and then after a scale back of employees and a 33 1/2 year employment with another firm, I came into my personal business full time. That was 5 1/2 years ago and today I have four employees beside myself who give us better than 50 years experience in our profession. I alone have 44 1/2 years in the Cabinet and Millwork industry being involved in both residential and commercial work of all types, from the restaurant industry to banks, schools and the health care areas. We are growing as we give our customers a quality product which is not made of particleboard or MDF board in a custom atmosphere where one can choose what they want and know they are getting the best product for their hard earned money. In addition, our customers have asked us to do more construction type remodels which requires a state certified license by the Alabama Home Builders Association ; thus we have it and that number is 24429

Woodworking questions, answered by experts
Hiring a woodworker can be expensive, depending on the job, but it’s very often well worth the investment. Woodworkers are able to provide custom pieces of furniture and handmade construction to present a finished product that is exactly to your specifications. If you have a specific vision for a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture or home feature, the cost of hiring a professional woodworker is worthwhile. Plus, you’ll often get a higher quality product than what you could buy in stores for a fraction of the price.
Building a new home can be more expensive than buying an existing one, depending on the housing market in your area. Many homeowners still find that building a new house is worth the investment as they can choose the exact layout they want, as well as to choose their own floors, wall coverings, appliances, and finishes. If you live close enough to the build site, you can also stop by to check on the builder’s progress, which can provide some peace of mind that the project is worth it.
Hickory, red oak, white oak, and Brazilian walnut are among the most durable wood flooring options. Teakwood is extremely durable and known as one of the hardest woods. It holds up against weather and sunlight, but it’s costly and can be difficult to source. Keep durability in mind when installing floors for high-traffic areas in your home.
Yes, professionals offer various roofing materials, including shingles and metal, to match home aesthetics.
Yes, many kinds of building permits exist for various projects in and outside your home. Each city sets the permit categories, but they typically cover new construction, alterations, and demolition. For example, you will need a different permit to finish a basement than you would tear down the patio.
