"After using a contractor who did not perform well, we found Mr. Leveretts Pest Control. He did not require us to help him move furniture as he brought a helper. "Terminix was quick to respond and to get out here for a termite inspection, which is what we needed. However, they signed us up for pest control and said their agent would be out to care for us right away. So far haven’t seen him yet. Will give 5 stars if that turns out well."

If the lizards have a burrow in your yard or regularly take the same route, place the trap there during the day. Iguanas are diurnal and most active during the day. A shady spot is best to keep the animal comfortable. And don’t forget to pick a level surface or stabilize the trap with a brick—iguanas are less likely to enter if it’s wobbly.

Although raccoons aren’t particularly picky regarding food, certain sounds, metals, and smells bother them. You can place these items around your home to keep raccoons away:

  • Place wire mesh screens around and underneath decks and porches to prevent raccoons from nesting. 

  • Put metal sheeting around the edges of your roof or at the base of trees to deter raccoons from coming close. 

  • Place a loud battery-operated radio near the raccoon’s den to keep them from nesting.

  • Keep a bowl of cider vinegar on your deck or porch.

  • Remove old raccoon scents by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting underneath porches and decks.

Carpet beetles don’t seek shelter in mattresses like bed bugs do, but there still may be sources of food, like the fabric of your sheets and blankets, that attract carpet beetles. Because these pests munch on plant-based materials, you could still find one in your bed as it’s searching for food.
