"Juan and his crew were outstanding to work with. They were kind, respectful, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. They took the time to explain exactly what they planned to do, how long it would take, and made sure everything was organized with a clear plan in place. The quality of their work exceeded expectations. They removed and hauled off all the trees, mowed the lawn, cleared out dead leaves by raking, bagging, and hauling them away, and cleaned up all the vines along the side of the house. They also pressure washed the patio and sidewalks, and trimmed back any branches hanging over the home. Everything was completed thoroughly and professionally, and the property looks significantly better. I would highly recommend Juan and his crew to anyone needing landscaping services."

"William and Shannon are awesome. Came out and gave a fair estimate for the work that needed to be done. William will not start charging until the lift is fully secure and he's ready to start cutting. Actually took about an hour to position/reposition to find the best spot. The tree (roughly 50 feet tall) was located between our house and the neighbors (space of about 20 feet apart). Job was completed in a very timely manner and I ended up saving $100 off the original quote. I would highly recommend giving them an opportunity for your next tree service. Thanks again to you both!"

"He did a great job! He trimmed some large trees on my property, cleared a large portion of my woods, and left it looking really good. He did several tasks while he was here and left everything better than he found it, not much more to say, I will hire Howard tree service in the future."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you’re wondering whether you can plant a tree where the stump was removed, know that the soil conditions won’t be ideal, so you should avoid it. The soil beneath the previous tree will likely be depleted of nutrients, plus there may be roots left behind that will seriously hinder the growth of a new tree. Also, if you use salt or other chemical solutions to kill the stump, these can linger in the soil for months or even years and prevent healthy growth. It’s best to choose a different spot that’s at least three feet away for a new tree, or wait at least a year and thoroughly amend the soil before you plant.

Ivy eventually kills trees by restricting its growth, blocking sunlight, absorbing nutrients and water from the soil, and weakening the tree. Trees with ivy are more likely to experience diseases, pests, rot, and fungi growth. When ivy weighs down tree branches, the tree is more likely to break during a storm and cause damage.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.
