"When a storm came through, a tree fell on top of our cars and left a huge mess. My neighbor had been using Matt with JH Lawn Care for years and told me to give him a call. I called Matt the next morning, explained what had happened, and he immediately headed our way. Even though it was emergency work, his pricing was very reasonable. My insurance adjuster actually had to move things around because Matt already had his tree crew on the way. They were at my house by mid-morning, and by that afternoon the tree was gone and everything was cleaned up. Matt and his crew were friendly, professional, and worked incredibly hard. "We had a tree to remove in a tricky spot near high intensity power lines. Their service was professional and we had no issues whatsoever. They took the tree down, cleared the debris and swept the lawn clean. So professional. We hope to have them back soon to remove at least two more trees. It’s not as common for Dutch elm disease to affect other types of trees, especially if the surrounding trees aren’t elms. However, it is possible for DED to spread to other trees, particularly in northern states, like Minnesota. Most trees can be successfully transplanted while they are young, but pines, walnuts, and some oak tree varieties are more difficult to move because their root systems grow deeper than most other trees. Also, trees adapted to sandy soil with wide root systems like beeches, willows, and aspens are harder to dig out because their roots spread much farther out from the trunk. In these cases, unless the trees are very young and small, it’s a good idea to consult a tree planting professional.

Your local government is usually in charge of pruning trees on public property, and the power company is responsible for trees near power lines (even if they’re on your property).
