Drywall installation is considerably faster and more affordable than plastering. If you have large, flat walls with few wall openings, you’ll pay less than if you have multiple windows and doors to cut around, corners, or curved walls.

Drywall anchors aren’t necessary if there’s a stud behind the wall where you’ll be working. Studs are strong enough to support screws on their own, but they don’t run throughout the wall. If you’re doing a project that involves the entire wall and not just one part (like hanging a small painting or photo), odds are you’ll need drywall anchors at some point in the process.

You can install backsplash on kitchen drywall, as long as you ensure your drywall is clean and dry before you apply the tiles. Your kitchen walls should be made of green board drywall, which is moisture-resistant. If you don’t have green board where your new backsplash will go, you should swap it out.
