I hired Aaron Frost to install new air conditioner unit. Based on their recommendation we agreed on a TempStar unit, The installation went very well, the installers were professional and courteous. I thought they did a great job. The day after the installation I noticed that the unit had a GrandAire name plate, not TempStar. After doing some research, I discovered they had installed a cheaper brand. I immediately went to the Aaron Frost office and let them know of my displeasure. They claimed it was a mistake by their supplier, not their installers. They said they had ordered a TempStar, but the supplier had sent a GrandAire. They did offer to correct the error by replacing the unit, but the GrandAire was working OK, My research told me it was not as highly rated as TempStar but wasn’t a bad unit and I did not want to go through another install. So I told Aaron Frost that I would except a refund on the difference between what I paid and what the unit actually was and they agreed. I also said that I wanted to see in writing what with the price difference was. I have received the refund, I hope this was an honest mistake, I hope by posting this review that this will warn other Angi members to follow up after work is completed. If I hadn’t caught this I would hope that Aaron Frost would’ve notified me when they realized it. This is the first time I’ve used them, so I don’t know have enough experience to know if they can be %100 trusted after this. I hope they would have the integrity to notify me that they had installed a lesser unit once discovered. I was satisfied with their work, they were very nice, but naturally this experience would make anyone wary.

Champion windows is unresponsive, it take several attempts to have a representative contact, during & after our installation. Our windows were misorded, arrived broken, and the job site was left a complete mess. Champion ordered 3 windows incorrectly & one arrive broken. We had to continuously call them to track down to have our 3 windows put in & one repaired. The debris left on site, broken glass, nails, trash, ended with a nail in my car tire & having hire a clean up crew to help pick up the hard to clean up glass & debris. The window payne around our picture window inside the house was badly beat up & damaged, the install team put colored Chaulk to hide it. Additionally, the crew put white trim around our windows, when we ordered grey. The crew leaders left for 2.5 to go get the correct color. I was the one who caught their error after they put the white trim up around the picture window. Crew admitted to not checking the inventory for our job before they arrived to start our job. It’s beyond repairable and need replaced. The install team cut our siding, two big cut marks on our hime. 2nd time Champion came to right their wrong, they left our home with a still broken window & the window that needs replaced due to manufacturing error on the inside of the glass, it’s scratch. 3 rd time Champion sent the Regional Manager to come out to evaluate the damage. He he confirmed. We now have to wait to have our issue fixed & take a 4 day off from work to have Champion Windows back to our home. I believe we deserve compensation beyond delivering the right good & services. We should be refunded the cost of clean up and car tire, along w time off from work. I would not recommend them.

Woodall Heating and Cooling EnterpriseWoodall Heating and Cooling assisted during my house closing by inspecting my unit and replacing a start capacitor. After the work was completed and sale completed, the run capacitor failed. After originally paying for the original inspection and service, they returned promptly to diagnose the issue and provided a temporary window unit to assist cooling the house. As they previously provided a service and inspection, they provided this service free of charge while I worked with my warranty company. This is a sign of a company that understands business and consumer relationships past making a profit off of every interaction. A+ Air & Appliance Maintenance Company IncIn 2019, I was expecting my third child during July in southeastern Alabama. The person called out had previously fixed my refrigerator in March 2019 and was kind of off in social skills, but his helper was someone I had known previously, so I brushed it off. My air conditioner was repaired in May 2019 by A+ through Old Republic Warranty towards the later part of May if I am not mistaken. (I recall my oldest had an honors day at school towards the end of the year.) The A/C gave out within 30 days. He told me that the home warranty didn't cover those repairs that were needed and said he would appreciate it if I paid in cash. I was told that within a few days everything should catch back up to speed and start cooling my home. (I have later learned that is a scam--if a/c is fixed, you are supposed to feel it immediately.) This guy from A+ treated me like an idiot the entire time and did not even know how to turn on the hot water in my home. He made a snide comment e that one of my dogs looked hot. (Gee, if only someone could fix that for me!) He even left his TOOLS inside my air conditioning unit outside. Local repair people I sought to fix the problem were floored. Nobody from home warranty wanted to go behind his work, and I had a heck of a time getting the new unit replaced. Next time Old Republic suggests a person, I am checking the reviews. There is a rumor that someone on their list breaks units on purpose so he can return and charge more. How much do you want to bet it is this guy? Either way, I have sold that house and moved somewhere else, and I have let the home warranty know I will not be accepting service from him.- Melanie H.

Overall, my interaction with individual was excellent. However, I informed the individual that I had two other bids that were to be submitted and I would call back if his bid was the best one submitted. This time his bid was not accepted. Bid of $75 service visit and $25 pound for Freon. The average 3 ton unit can require from 6 to 12 pounds of Freon to fully charge. I based bid on 6 pounds. I will consider this individual for future hires.- William B.

Tommy's Heating & Air Conditioning Services LLCIt was unusual. I placed a service call and the service rep showed up when expected. He said the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced. I also asked him to give me an estimate for moving the unit to another location, not closed-in as its current location. When I got a call for the prices of moving the unit and replacing the air compressor I was in my car talking on the car?s blue tooth speakers. Between of the volume and the clarity the conversation was strained. What was said between us was misunderstood by the other, so I declined the Fails services; however, with some reluctance I did pay the initial service call invoice. Later, Mr. Tom Hall sent me a letter stating our conversation was not as it should have been and the miscommunication was shared by both, so he had enclosed a reimbursed check which covered my service fee. To me this spoke volumes of Mr. Hall and his integrity. I eventually used another vendor to do my work and was quite pleased with that vendor, but should I ever have the need or should a friend need a reliable air conditioner service I will certainly recommend Mr. Tom Hall of Fails Heating and Air.- Jim G.
