"Great service, on time, respectful of both my property and me. Completed the job in a timely manner, on budget/quoted price. Also cleaned up all work related debris both inside and outside. Called them back today to service ac at at rental unit I was so pleased with the service. Another great experience. It is rare to find someone who is knowledgable, within budget, and very customer focused. I highly recommend this company.

"Highly recommend! The service rep I dealt with was actually very knowledgeable on what I was needing and was able to answer my questions over the phone without even looking at what I had going on. I was offered a free service call and the repair was the most affordable around my area. I will continue to use them from here on out. Other highly recommended places was charging nearly double for what I was needing repaired and also charged me a fee to even come and look. I'm so glad I found some good local honest people to help and will now always recommend them! Thank y'all so much for your outstanding service!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The cost to replace an AC unit averages around $5,900, with a typical range between $3,900 and $8,020. The final price depends on several factors, including the type and size of the air conditioner, its efficiency rating, your geographic region, and labor costs for installation. Smaller units like portable and window ACs are much less expensive, costing between $90 and $550, compared to central or ductless systems. If your current unit is less than 10 years old, repairing it may be more cost-effective than a full replacement.

Air conditioners can stop working in the middle of the night for many reasons. Your local power grid might shut down late at night. Power surges can also trip your breakers if too much power is being used in the area at the time. If your AC is connected to a digital thermostat, it gets naturally cooler at night, so the outdoor temperature might dip below the automated setting to turn the cooling system off.

Turn your system off when you're toasty or when you're out to prevent unnecessary wear. Using the timer on your thermostat so that it switches off when it reaches a certain temperature or turns on just before you get back from work is best. An annual maintenance contract can be helpful to ensure your system receives these important services at regular intervals.

When your HVAC system is loud, a few different causes are possible. If you have loose connections or bolts in the hardware, they can rattle as the system runs and vibrates. If you have an extremely dirty furnace filter, it could cause the system to generate noise. More commonly, an excessively loud HVAC system indicates a malfunction in the system. You may have a blower motor that is close to failing or a compressor that is breaking down. These issues require an immediate inspection.

There are a few ways to determine if a vent is open or closed. You can inspect the vent and examine the position of the fins. If there are spaces between them, the vent is open. If the fins are flat and touching, the vent is closed. You can also stand under the vent when the system is running to see if you feel air flowing through it.
