"From beginning to end, Halo's team was professional and exceeded my expectations. Heber came for the estimate on time, the day I requested. Out of all of the companies I requested an estimate from, Halo was the only one that showed up on time, took notes, and measured rooms. Just before the start day, Heber came to confirm all colors and reviewed the work to be done. Every day of the project, they were on time to start. Each person of the crew worked in sync with each other. Everyone knew what to do next. There was no time anyone wasn't doing something. I also had a room to have minor remodeling done. The new walls were simultaneously being done which the house painting. Along the way, they also found a an area which had termites. Without they're keen eye, I would have not know about it. Even though it's an added expense, they found the problem before it got worse. Thanks to Halo, my house looks like a new home with their professional painting. They were not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but they were just right. With the wide range of abilities of Halo, I will be requesting their skills for fixing the termite damaged wall, and I know my wife already has more projects she wants them to do. Call Halo for you next project. You won't be disappointed."

Painting questions, answered by experts

The best way to prepare your vinyl fence for a paint job is to clean it with warm, soapy water and rinse it with a hose or pressure washer on a low setting. Be sure to let it totally dry, then sand the surface before applying an epoxy-based primer. After the primer, you're ready to paint your vinyl fence.

Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.

You should repaint your fence every 1 to 3 years, depending on the appearance of wear and tear. Weather and usage will factor into how often you should paint another coat on your fence. If you need to replace a few fence boards or posts, you may want to consider repainting the fence to help protect the rest of the fence as well as the new pieces against damage and deterioration from being exposed to the elements.

For the longest-lasting exterior paint, consider acrylic or enamel (oil-based) paints. Acrylic paints, including acrylic latex and acrylic enamel, are known for withstanding harsh weather and sun exposure. Enamel-based paints are also one of the most durable options available. While latex paint is common, it typically has a shorter lifespan than acrylic or oil-based options. The paint's finish also affects its durability; a higher gloss finish is generally more durable. For resistance to moisture and cracking, matte and satin finishes can be effective, while a high-gloss acrylic or oil-based paint offers a combination of maximum longevity and durability.

Yes, many repair services include repainting to match the color of the existing siding or walls. Most professionals offer this service to ensure the repaired area blends in seamlessly.
