"Jimmy, Josh and their crews took a jungle of a back yard and made it beautiful. The designed and did the entire project. We have received dozens of compliments from our neighbors as well as the City Inspectors. The built the retaining wall and waterfall, did the grading and installed the complete drainage and irrigation systems. Their price was very fair and concrete began the project they stayed on the job until they finished. I would give them six stars if I could. Highly recommend them for all landscape related projects. "For several years, we had experienced an inch of water coming into a section of our garage every time it rained. We contacted APW to install a drain system that would address the problem. I was a bit concerned at first about how the final product would look. I should not have worried as it looks great and works perfectly. After several days of heavy rain recently, we have had not a drop of water make it into the garage. I am no longer concerned about slipping on puddles or having waterlogged boxes and tools getting moldy in the garage. I've already contacted them for a secondary project on the other side of my house."

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

If you don’t backfill a retaining wall—either at all or adequately enough—the wall won’t drain well, and water will be able to pass through it. Poor drainage will lead to a warped wall or a buildup of hydrostatic pressure, which can eventually collapse your retaining wall. If you have particularly sloped land, consult a structural engineer to ensure your hardscaping is adding value to your home.

Through proper drainage solutions and compacting the foundation soil.

With foundation walls, the slab on grade and force at the top of the wall is resisted by flooring. With retaining walls, the force at the top of the wall is not resisted.

Yes, to build a retaining wall, a permit is required. Similarly, any repairs or modifications to an existing retaining wall require permits. If the planned wall measures higher than 4 feet, most municipalities require designs and permits come through a licensed engineer. In some locations, if the wall is shorter than 4 feet, a permit may not be required. For the requirements in your area, contact your local government.

They prevent soil erosion, add flat space, and enhance property aesthetics.
