They re-used my brick and did a good job of matching the mortar. They removed the whole area around the cracks, cleaned it up, and then re-assembled it. They also redid some brickwork under a downspout and that looks nice as well. They put new molding and lintel around the garage."

A vapor barrier keeps moisture out of the crawl space, while insulation reduces the amount of unconditioned air—and sometimes moisture—that enters the space. Coupling a vapor barrier with insulation can help prevent humidity and related moisture damage in a crawl space while also making your home more energy-efficient. Just be sure to use insulation that won’t get damaged from moisture, like rigid foam board or expanding spray foam insulation.

Homeowners insurance covers some damage caused by ice dams, but it depends on the type of damage. Insurance policies will often cover things like interior water damage, roof collapse, and actual shingle damage resulting from ice formation, but it depends on your policy. Check your coverage information or contact your insurer to find out what your plan covers. If you shut the zone, you can also hang plastic sheets over doorways to separate the construction area and keep dust contained.
