Matvey Foundation Repair
We had a dip in our Family Room floor that had started soon after we moved into our brand new house many years ago. After contacting an independent Structural Engineer to learn that we had no major structural issue, we contacted Matvey for the actual fix. Gardner was the person that came out for the estimate and we found him professional, knowledgable and personable. The job expanded to another area of the house that we didn’t anticipate but it was an obvious problem after he pointed it out. They ended up putting several floor jack supports and three steel beams underneath floor joists to give them additional support. Contractors are super-busy around here but we got lucky and they started the work almost immediately. Their workers were clean and respectful. They laid down paper from the front door to the crawlspace entrance and cleaned up at the end of each day. Chris, the foreman, was also very pleasant and clearly communicated what they were doing and the “trade-offs” we needed to consider as they reinforced the subfloor. We needed to have them come out once after the initial job was done to adjust an area around a beam and they did so rather quickly. We also greatly appreciated Gardner’s extra effort to answer our questions after the work was done and to help facilitate the resolution of a couple of outstanding items. Matvey has a transferable warranty on their work which will help when we go to sell the house and made us feel we made the right decision in having them do the work
The communication was excellent! I really felt comfortable working with Eli and ESG. He went the extra mile to ensure my questions were answered. I would definitely hire ESG again.
L & L Construction Services Inc
We interviewed at least a half dozen companies before meeting Ray with L&L. We instantly liked him and was impressed with his genuine friendliness and professionalism. He came in totally prepared...taking notes, making measurements, listening to what we wanted and needed, and providing us choices of various products along with recommendations .He actually had product samples along with colors etc. We presented him with a complicated task of having to jack up the main floor and a 26ft wall of windows to replace the main structural foundation sill plates above the basement wall that had been leaking for years unbeknownst to us prior to purchasing the home even 15 years ago...replacement windows had no flashings etc therefore allowing rain water to back flow over the top of the concrete foundation and down inside the walls flooding the downstairs living area and rotting the main wood structure. He was able to tackle that along with double waterproofing it all before he then began the large deck. The deck itself was very detailed. Building a deck these days is far more detailed and complicated than just slapping up the 2X6 structure and nailing the boards on top. Every deck board needs 100% end support so you really need to double think each joint/connection. Our deck was 36X18 with 3 sections and picture framed around each therefore adding to the complicated framing plus we had some angle cut edges. The crew ( himself; his son and 1 other worker) worked for days preparing the area with taking down the old deck and jack hammering out 6 tons of concrete...and hauling it all off also. All in all it was a long and difficult job through a week of heat and another week of rain. Every day I told them how impressed I was with their professionalism ; talent and ability. Every day they totally picked up and cleared the area. They were on time every day. When they left for the day they made a point of telling us that they were leaving for the day. I'm worn out now even just thinking of all they did and just how friendly and nice they all were. We couldn't be any happier with their work... and I'm probably the first to admit I can be very particular with all. You can rest assured that the job will be done correct and to the best of their ability... and these days what is also important is that L&L is a family business and you're not feeding a large corporate company. You will be happy with your choice if you choose Ray at L&L. :) They were the BEST!!

The crews were extremely professional and kept the work area clean and neat. After they were all done, you could hardly tell they were there at all. Everything was put back as it was, and they even added beauty bark to the work area.
Matvey Foundation Repair
Matvey did an excellent job from beginning to end. They worked with me to develop an affordable solution to my concrete wall issues and completed the work on time and as promised. They stuck to their scheduled appointment to conduct an assessment and provide a quote and their workmen worked hard to complete the job to quality standards and on time. I have had a lot of contractors working over the past year on the home we recently purchased and Matvey is one of only two of about six contractors that I will ever deal with again. They are honest, work quickly and provide quality products and work to ensure best value for the money. I am considering another project and will definitely give them the first opportunity to bid it. Thanks Matvey

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. As a new homeowner, I wanted to learn more about my property and their Angie's List deal was a perfect opportunity to identify and potential for long-term foundation issues, drainage concerns, and potential options for repairing and / or replacing some of my older concrete slabs. At the scheduled time, two very cheerful Matvey engineers arrived and we started taking a look around the exterior of the house. As we started looking around the exterior, they took the time to talk to me about any potential concerns I had, areas to which I might like to have special attention given, and generally got to know me and my house. Looking at the concrete slabs, they were able to identify options for re-leveling those that had shifted over time, noting the areas of some slabs that might be more problematic than others. Examining my drainage, they verified that the current arrangement was largely adequate; the one area that was of concern was identified and explained in quite a bit of detail, and they indicated what the proper resolution would be (which I could handle myself). Completing the exterior analysis, they expertly identified a few areas that they suggested be monitored for any shifting, providing me with the monitoring devices and instructions for installing them properly. The interior analysis involved taking measurements of all ceilings to identify any shifts in the structure of the house - they took a good number of measurements from both levels. They also thoroughly inspected the lower level for any signs of water penetration. I would note that I was both surprised and very pleased to discover that they were both very pet-friendly people. Having completed their measurements, they summarized the result of the visit and were merrily on their way. Within a few days, I had estimates for the identified issues and a report that detailed the examination and findings. It was an absolute pleasure to meet both the engineers, get to know them, and have them perform such a careful and professional analysis of our home. Thanks to them, we have exactly the information we were hoping to get and will definitely be utilizing them in the future. Thank you both so much

Matvey Construction has been an incredible help to us and our building. We're a multi unit co-op building with a leaking and basement and a small budget. We carefully selected a contractor and paid a lot of money for a repair that ultimately did not fix the problem - so frustrating. Second time around, thankfully, we were referred to Matvey Contruction. Mat has patiently addressed all of our questions and explained every step of the project along the way both to our Board and also to the actual building tenants at a building-wide meeting. He's spent many evening hours in long meetings with us explaining the details, and maintained clear communication with us throughout the length of the project. Now their project is complete, and he has continued to help us with (no cost) advice and guidance as we address another problem that was uncovered as part of the water analysis. Basically this firm was and is extremely upfront and trustworthy, and truly acted with our best interests at heart. In the vast and often confusing world of selecting a construction firm, they are one of the best. I would work with them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone
Eli was efficient, clear in all communications and got the work done within a reasonable time. Highly recommend!

I am so grateful to have had the privilege to work with Khalid now in behalf of several clients. He has decades of experience and I feel confident leaning on his expertise for my personal investments as well as referral source. I particularly appreciate his ability to simply communicate complex findings effectively but conversationally. Trust me, I work with many "experts" in my line of work consulting and representing clients in their Real Estate transactions and Khalid is the real deal. He provides peace of mind when questions of structural integrity arise. Thank you Khalid for always making yourself available to answer my questions and for taking such good care of customers

"We bought an old home and needed a structural engineer to assess what condition the house was in so we knew what we could feasibly remodel. We were admittedly ignorant to the whole process. When Felipe came out for the inspection, he was professional, friendly, and happily answered our uninformed questions. We didn't know what to expect in the structural assessment report, but upon receiving the report, it was unquestionably worth the money. I am doing a bit of the remodeling myself and he has been an invaluable resource allowing me to ask questions as I progress through the remodel. I would recommend his services to others, and will certainly use his services again in the future.

"We hired Char to help us design an addition to our home in Burien, WA. Our addition adds a 300 sq. ft master suite to our 1100 sq. ft house. Char built our trust quickly. She listened carefully to our concerns, and used her own creativity to make huge improvements to our original plans. Our project wouldn’t have looked the same without her input. Char incorporated very specific requests from us concerning noise reduction, and went above and beyond to research many solutions for us to choose from. Char communicated her schedule clearly, we always knew exactly what she was working on, her deliverables, and what we would discuss in our next meeting. We never had a meeting that wasn’t useful. Char helped us navigate the Burien permit process, making sure the drawing package was complete enough to pass the first time. She reached out to specific city officials ahead of time to anticipate any issues before permit submittal. Char created very detailed drawings and has exceptional drafting skills. She added more detail than required at every stage of the design to help us make critical decisions earlier in the process. Our hired GC complimented Char’s drawing package when we put it out for bid, saying it was better than many that he’s seen. We also hired Char to meet with contractors and review estimates. She was able to help us navigate what was a reasonable price and weed out any weird or misleading estimates. In summary, Char has been a fantastic resource for us and has helped make our first major home improvement project much less daunting.

"You can stop looking, you have found an honest builder with pride in workmanship. I looked for months for a deck builder I felt would do a good job. Several of them were from Angies list and they were not interested in what I wanted, they were interested in what they could sell me. I talked to them about the fact that I had a mature garden and they would need to work around the plants. They told me I would have to move the plants. I wanted to know if the structure of the deck was still safe. They told me they wouldn’t know until they took the deck apart. I told them what my budget was. They had no advise or options to offer. I balked. They mansplained. I tore up their bids which were outrageous. One was for $33,000. It just isn’t that big a deck. I was really bummed. Then I found Ray. Ray came to my house and inspected the deck I had. He even crawled under it to check the structure. He answered questions. He explained the process and told me what it would cost to replace the deck I had. It was too expensive. He suggested alternative designs that would fit my budget. We talked back and forth for three weeks until we had a nice design that I could afford. He understood about my garden and assured me they could work around the plants and would be careful. He brought me decking samples, discussed pros and cons of different materials, and was patient and answered all my questions. He sent me a schematic of the deck with an estimate that listed supplies. I hired him. Ray and his son were the first contractors to work on my home that I didn’t feel I had to watch to make sure they did the job I paid them for. In fact, when they got some bad materials, they took them back to the supplier rather than just use them anyway. They finished the job at the cost we agreed on and there were no surprises. They left my property cleaner than they found it and not one plant lost its life to them. I now have a deck that is beautiful and that will outlast me. Decks are not all Ray and his son do. The next project I do on my home, this company will be the first I call.

"Chumley and team have done several jobs for me…all of which were fantastic. They’re highly experienced, and help to come up with common sense solutions to often complex problems. I can’t tell you how refreshing that is in an industry where it’s easy to fleece the public. These guys can be trusted to give you a fair price, and do quality work. Definitely recommend
