  I highly recommend Oren SOD Home Group! He is very knowledgeable, answered all my questions (and more) , very professional, and responsive. Oren spent over 5 hours during our first meeting showing me all the possibilities that can be done to my house (kitchen, bathrooms, livingroom, dinning room and all the rest of the house), if you know little about all the little details about remodeling your home (like I do), Oren will definitely explain it to you in terms that you will completely understand and turns your ideas into this beautiful 3D design. Oren also had awesome ideas and recommendations on how to attain your dream home. He knows house histories, and why houses were built in a certain way! He is unlike any other contractor that will just throw out random price of how much the renovation could cost you without showing you hard proof. I am a visual learner, so when he made this amazing 3D design using the exact measurement of my house, he by far blown my mind with his experience and knowledge.   We highly recommend SOD Home Group for any large construction project. After finishing my excellent research about them, we hired them to make some significantly large repairs to our home. Oren was very up front about what needed to be done, and he listened to our concerns and ideas of what we need and want and then came up with a super detailed plan of what needed to be done. We found Oren as a very honest, professional, easy to work with person, competent, and extremely knowledgeable about his trades. Oren was present and working with his teams almost all the time they were present. Oren always answered his phone right away whenever we had questions (and believe us we had so many questions and comments). Our repairs and construction job required expertise in many aspects of construction at our home. From framing, waterproofing, stucco, structural repairs, tile work, drywall painting etc. all of which got done in a great and timely manner. We do a lot of our own repairs , and have had many contractors doing projects too, but we found SOD Home Group to be by far the best construction company we have ever seen or worked with. Their prices are fair, their work is excellent, on time, clean and the quality is fantastic. Oren is knowledgeable about whatever he is working on and always kept me updated on whatever aspect of the job he was working on. A wonderful person to work with.   We had such a positive experience with SOD Home Group, especially in working with Oren that we feel the need to write a review in case if someone else out there is searching for the same type of work on their home or even just a good construction company/contractor to work with. Prior to SOD Home Group, we worked with another contractor who not only didn’t deliver but took off with our money. We then contacted other contractors hoping they can do the job or recommend someone who is reliable to do the work, but it turns out they can only perform smaller projects. We decided to just give up on our vision of having a complete remodeling project of our home all together since it was too difficult to find someone who could take on the job and be trustworthy. But every time we looked at the wall it bothered us, I know first world problems, so we gave it one last shot. We sent a request out to multiple construction companies and SOD Home Group was one of the few who responded. When Oren came for the initial consultation, he was very well prepared, knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of details on what was involved (permits, inspections, cost, etc) so we knew we would move forward with SOD Home Group because of him. Long story short, we couldn’t be happier to have worked with him. He was very proactive and transparent throughout the entire process, updating us on timelines and of any delays. The best part of all is that any concerns we had or imperfection that we pointed out, he happily addressed them and got them corrected until we were happy with the results. Overall, the experience was impressive and we couldn’t be happier. For any future projects on home, SOD Home Group would definitely be our go to. Thanks SOD Home Group and Oren!   The sales rep came out and completed a detailed drawing of our kitchen and gave us a quote for replacing all the cabinets and counter tops. Their estimate included moving the sink over in order to install a lazy Susan and putting in a new sink. Also, the previous cabinets were only 32 inches long, and they replaced them with 42 inch cabinets. The old tile counters were replaced with granite. They only charged us $100 for the permits, which cost them $700. He gave us a date for the work to begin, and they came out right on time. Because of his suggestions, we have a ton more storage space in the kitchen. The installer, Vladimir, did an outstanding job. He and his crew worked tirelessly and went out of their way to make the experience as painless as possible. They always showed up when expected and kept us informed of every step and the timing required to complete. They started on 8/2/12 and finished in 16 days -- about 3 days were spent waiting for the City inspector. The inspector found no issues with their work. The kitchen looks great. My husband and I are very happy with the work. The only negative thing I can say is that we asked them if they could do some drywall work in the kitchen pantry and around the kitchen window where the back-splash was too thick to fit. They said they could and would get back to us with the estimate. After several phone calls, we are still waiting to hear back. Until the drywall is done in the pantry, we can't finish putting everything back in the kitchen. After waiting for about 3 weeks, we are back on Angie's list looking for a drywallershow more

  I had previously had this job quoted by a local vendor and was unhappy with the level of service. In order to obtain a quality vendor I joined Angie's List for this particular job. I sent out several emails to vendors and the first and best to respond was Mark from America's Dream Homeworks. He came out to give a quotation and with his computer and portable printer was able to provide 2D and 3D representations of the new kitchen. He was friendly, full of suggestions and had a can-do attitude. It was much easier to discuss remodeling ideas with the floor plans in hand, which I did not receive from other vendors in previous attempts to estimate scope of work. In order to meet a winter discount deadline by end of January I felt a slight rush to sign the contract but I only paid $3500 up front ($2500 deposit for cabinets and $1000 for work). In order to place the order for cabinets Mark (Vlad) or Vladimir were very willing to come by late in the evenings to drop off cabinet and granite samples so they set a high standard for customer service early on. Due to separate HOA and vendor issues (unrelated to this particular vendor) with the related garden window approval the work on the kitchen did not start till May 10. We set an initial date of May 8 but this was pushed later due to another job they had to finish, which I did expect. The initial estimate on the signed contract was 9-12 business days, which was accurate for the bulk of the work, completed May 25. So we paid $15K more at this point. But there were some mistakes we made (wrong size sink, delayed granite cutting work) and some mistakes they made (corner cabinet wrong size so had to remove initial install and replace with new corner cabinet) so the final touches (our final to do list) required work on some isolated days, so the job was not fully completed with final walk through with Vladimir till June 22, when we paid the balance. In addition to the labor and parts we signed in the contract we provided parts for installation totalling $6K more (dishwasher and faucet and disposal + the unusually expensive custom garden window to fulfill HOA specifications). When we were not waiting for new parts, the actual work went relatively smoothly. For most of the work, weekdays only, there was a two person crew (Sergey and co-worker) and they started ~ 9am in the morning and would often work late till ~7pm or 8pm. They set tarps down and taped plastic to separate the work area from the living area. Heard no complaints from any neighbors in our condo complex and they cleaned up at the end of the day. Some things that can be done better or more smoothly involve better communication on both sides. We did not have a strong opinion on what brand of cabinets we ordered but if you do I suggest doing your research before hand and knowing if you want to go higher end than their standard Timberlake brand cabinets. Before cabinet installation have a conversation with supervisor (Vladimir) about which cabinets go where. This would have avoided having to take out the other, wrong cabinet and would have avoided drilling unnecessary holes in some of the other cabinets. It's also a good time to make sure the right shelves or roll-out drawers were ordered, which we did have to order later. For example in order to move process along the sealing on the grout was delayed. We would have preferred the grout in the floor tile under the cabinets to be sealed. In general, during planning stage it's best to be clear yourself on what your goals are (ours were maintain or expand storage space, improve counter space, improve look) so you know what to prioritize if you have to make choices. Some of our choices resulted in less storage in some locations and not the right size storage in others. While the level of service was excellent at the initial stages of the work some of our emails during the middle and towards the end were not addressed promptly so were slightly disappointed. In the end we love our new kitchen and it came together well with Mark's initial consultation, Natalie's email correspondence with the HOA paperwork and scheduling, Vladimir's supervision and friendly interaction, Sergey and crew work and a relatively smooth working relationship.   From start to finish, the America?s Dream Homeworks team was incredibly professional, helpful, and friendly. From the first day, Mark and John, our head contractors, would take the time to answer all our questions (in person, via phone, and via email) and walk us through each step of the remodel project. Our ADH construction team, Vlad, Vasily, and Peter were hardworking and responsible. They always took the time to clean up at the end of the day too. Lana managed our billing/account very smoothly. The entire team was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Our remodel project consisted of a complete kitchen remodel (demolition, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, finishes), removing one wall between the kitchen and dining area, a full bathroom remodel (demolition,plumbing, electrical, finshes), re-carpeting one room, installing laminate wood on one staircase, and refinishing all the hardwood floors in our house. They completed the work on time and didn't try to fit in other small jobs between ours. The ADH team was very helpful with suggestions on materials and design elements for each project. In the kitchen, they installed Sensa granite countertops, Timberlake cabinetry, and Bedrosians floor tiles. In the bathroom, they installed Piedrafina marble shower walls and vanity countertop, Timberlake vanity cabinet, and Bedrosians floor tile. Everything looked great and we couldn't have asked for more. One thing that I appreciated about working with Mark and John is that there was no cost over-run. The quote at the beginning is exactly what we paid at the end of the project. I would suggest being certain and clear about what your vision is for the project and getting it documented in the contract.This being my first time doing a remodel, I realize that I was not as prepared with making decisions as I should have been.
