Eric and his team were consummate professionals. They built new cabinets for our kitchen. Our house is 91 years old and as you can imagine nothing is plum or square. They worked hard to get everything installed perfectly. Their workmanship was top notch. There were small adjustments needed and Eric was responsive to all our requests. I highly recommend Mr. Sawdust.

Eric and his team did a great job constructing and installing our custom cabinets. He is very easy to get a hold of and answered all our questions regarding design, materials and cost. He also provided some great suggestions regarding design after seeing the space we were working with. The timeline he provided was accurate, and both he and his assistant Daniel were very professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend Eric/Mr. Sawdust. He did a great job! I have an outdoor, covered kitchen/entertainment area and I needed two cabinets and a set of 4 shelves installed. Eric came out and listened to my vision, and made a few of his own suggestions, and the finished product was exactly what I was hoping for. The spaces where the cabinets would go are concrete, and there are also outlets and some other obstructions that had to be worked around in order to accommodate the cabinets. Eric measured everything perfectly. Once installed, the cabinets looked like they came with the house! On the cabinet doors I wanted to add some custom, weathered barn wood to the faces, and Eric found some great pieces and installed them really nicely. They look great! When it came time to install everything, he was on time, kept the area clean, and efficient. I am really pleased with the cabinets and shelves and would definitely hire him again for additional projects.

We needed to switch our living room set up to accommodate a flat screen where there had been a deep space for an older television, but we didn't want to have to replace everything in the wall. Eric gave us different options for how to do that, without pushing us into the most expensive, elaborate choice. Which is just the greatest when that happens. He gave us exactly what we needed and matched the wood perfectly to what we already had in there. He also left the place immaculate when he was done. He was lovely to work with and did a fantastic job.

I found Eric on Yelp and contacted him due to his excellent reviews. He came to my house promptly and I was immediately impressed with his attention to detail and his knowledge of his craft. He took precise measurements for a new custom made wall unit. He fit our existing entertainment components perfectly and matched our existing maple hard wood floors. His installation went off without a hitch producing a quality unit that continues to impress all that visit our home. Don't look any further this is the right choice!

We were referred to Eric / Mr. Sawdust by our interior designer, Jamie King. She spoke very highly of his work. We had already gotten bids from six other cabinetry companies and were not happy with any of them. Eric was the most professional to work with, the most focused on attention to detail and came up with a beautiful, unique design that did not look like kitchen cabinetry at all – a problem that we've had with the other bidders. His price was substantially better in the most expensive and a little more then the low-end, but was exactly what we wanted and we had confidence that the quality would be outstanding. We worked with Jamie and Eric on the finish in the hardware as well, and at the end of the day we have a beautiful addition to our home that holds our China perfectly and looks amazing. I would work with Eric again in a heartbeat and recommend that anyone interested in high-quality cabinetry at a fair price call him today!

Eric was amazing.  We just bought a condo and we needed a little more storage room in the kitchen.  Eric built a pantry add on that matched our cabinets PERFECTLY!!!!.  He built exactly what we had imagined.   It was a pantry with a pullout drawer that held 2 garbage cans (1 for regular garbage and 1 for recyclables.)  It looked like it was originally made with the cabinets.  He even redid the molding to match the original.  Not only was his work impeccable, he was incredibly professional.  He showed up exactly on time.  He was prompt with the results.  It cost a little more than we had originally budgeted but completely worth it!.  We certainly would work with him again... in fact, we already discussing a new project for bathroom storage!  I would highly recommend him!

We have lived here for many years.  Over the years I have tried and failed to find a high quality cabinet maker to complete the bar cabinet with doors.  We called Mr. Sawdust man and he promptly returned our call and stop by on his way from a job.  He took measurements, left and emailed us with the cost.  He made several recommendations, style, type of glass, hinges etc. 
The cabinet doors are of the finest craftsmanship.

I cannot recommend Mr. Sawdust more.  And I wish I could - I wish I could crank this recommendation up to 11 - cause he deserves it!
Here's how Mr. Sawdust saved us from a kitchen cabinet disaster:
Our contractor made a bad deal with a company that turned out to be fraudulent and a literal scam.
With our deadline looming, we sent Eric and Mr. Sawdust a message on SUNDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING, and my husband assured me that because it was SUNDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING we would NOT hear anything until possibly the next day, but because of our experience with our contractor and his sub- we had kinda given up hope entirely.
Less than an hour later we were talking with Eric about a plan to move forward.
By the end of that same week we had a final, actionable design (something that we STILL had not received after about 3 MONTHS of back and forths with the people our contractor had hired), a signed contract and a commitment from Eric to provide us with exactly what we wanted.
Eric met, or very nearly met every milestone he said he would, all the while identifying issues we hadn't foreseen, measuring and remeasuring our space to ensure that everything would fit exactly as it should, and presenting solutions to anything that seemed (to us) to be an insurmountable obstacle between us and our dream kitchen.
He presented us with pristine samples of our chosen colors and finishes (which were detailed and exacting and VARIOUS), photos of his progress, written updates and communication about when we could expect delivery and install, painting and finishing touches, and just finished installing everything for us with a smile.
Oh - and he and his co-worker even VACUUMED our kitchen after installing our hardware and before they took their final leave.
We've begun talks with Eric to proceed with a few other pieces of carpentry that our current Contractor has essentially left us high and dry over.
I repeat, I cannot recommend Mr. Sawdust more. He is an example of what every tradesperson should aspire to - in quality of work, enthusiasm, transparency, realistic expectations, and collaborative spirit.  You'll be lucky to have him!

From beginning to end, Mr. Sawdust was the consummate professional. He deserves all the positive reviews he has here and more!
He came on board to help us salvage what another cabinet-maker had completely botched (which, in itself was a huge deal since no one likes having to fix someone else's mistakes). His estimate of $5,000 was also one of the lowest (another Angie's list vendor gave us an estimate of $16,000 - but I doubt he could have done such great work.)
Eric finished the cabinetry in what seemed like record time without cutting any corners (so to speak!). He took the time to understand the unique design features we wanted to incorporate and even installed the remote controlled lights in the upper cabinets for us. Along the way, he also provided us with helpful suggestions to improve design and utility, which we very much appreciated.
The day of installation, they covered every surface of our bedroom so it would be protected from any dust or debris. When they were finished, they cleaned up everything and left our home as clean as they found it.
When my husband and I saw the final installation, it was better than we had even imagined! I just can't believe our vision has come to life - we are absolutely thrilled with the results. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!

Eric, owner, designer and cabinetmaker, is a precious resource for LA homeowners who long for a true professional cabinetmaker. He has proven to me he can execute with both precision and artistry a quality piece of furniture that can greatly enhance a living space.    Unlike the majority of cabinetmakers today, who are great with the sales pitch, trying to impress with lists of project addresses and VIP client lists but who are in fact run like mass production factories and to whom details are a distraction, Mr. Sawdust is all about making each homeowner happy.  While many cabinetmakers we visited offered quotes without bothering to come out to the house, Eric insisted on not only seeing the hallway where we were looking to have the built-in, but in viewing the entire floor. This way he could get a sense of the architecture and design styles elsewhere so he could ensure that our design would be a natural fit for the space.  There were several back and forth emails refining the original design, with Eric patiently and meticulously reviewing my responses, dropping by with samples of finishes, etc.   
Once the plans were completed, Eric built the cabinets with quality materials and craftsmanship before arranging for a talented finisher to do his job.  The final product was executed flawlessly.  The precision that Eric demands of himself is considerably greater than what I suspect most homeowner's would expect, which was truly appreciated.  There were no shortcuts, no compromises with Eric.   While many run-of-the-mill cabinetmakers may roll their eyes when customers pepper them with picky questions, Eric encourages this type of dialogue as it helps him satisfy his customer.   For those looking through Angie's List reviews, beware the slick large-scale operations that are a cabinetmaker's equivalent of a fast food outlet.  Mr. Sawdust is that rare gem, like a 10 table restaurant hidden behind the main thoroughfare, serving only the best creations of a master chef.

He was competitively priced, reliable, polite and performed the job in the agreed upon time frame. The doors look beautiful and are a fine work of carpentry. I would highly recommend him.

I was redoing a condo rental and used Eric to upgrade old cabinets. The quality of his work was excellent and he was incredibly responsive. I did check prices with other providers and felt he was very competitive. He brought samples to the condo so we could make our choices and then returned to install everything. I'm a perfectionist, and was very pleased with the quality of his work. I'd use him again in a minute and wouldn't hesitate to refer him to friends and family.

Eric did a fantastic job designing , building , installing our new very large built in cabinet and bookshelves with glass doors . The quality of his workmanship is incredible . I would highly recommend Eric for any custom wood work . We liked his work so much we asked him to build another cabinet for our new bathroom remodel.

Eric did a great job enlarging our island.  There were a lot of tricky aspects - the floor wasn't level anymore, and he spent a lot of time figuring out how to balance the various small issues so that the job was done right.  He also helped us with the design, and his suggestions were great.  His price was fair too and he's a nice guy.  Super important in my book.  We would definitely hire him again

I like his quality of work.  The cabinet that he brought is just gorgeous.  I drew him a sketch of what I wanted and he made some great suggestion but what he built was far better than I could imagine.  It was really nice quality.

First and foremost, Eric does beautiful work.  His design was exactly what I wanted, the quality and workmanship on his cabinets is superb.  Eric is a pleasure to work with; he responds to all my inquiries immediately, he is respectful of my home and he is a true craftsman.  It is often difficult to find professional, trustworthy people who take real pride in their craft- Eric is the real deal.  He already built my kitchen cabinets, which are stunning, and I have two other cabinet projects pending with Eric.  I cannot say enough great things about him; he is a great find.  If you want beautiful woodwork, look no further than Mr. Sawdust!

The job entailed re-facing the kitchen drawers and cabinet doors with shaker-style drawer and door fronts, adding a new cabinet and 3-ft. peninsula extension, converting cabinets below the oven and stove to pull-out drawers, converting a broom closet into a set of pull-out shelves on rollers, installing a pull-out set of trash containers, installing all new cabinet and drawer pulls, and other related woodwork.
I emailed Mr. Sawdust (Eric), and he called back within 12 hours, at which point we set an appointment for him to come by two days later. He came by and we spent about an hour walking through some kitchen remodel ideas, modifying the plans slightly if he recognized physical limitations or other issues.  He showed me pictures of some of his work, and it's really amazing stuff.
He was making notes and taking measurements as we spoke.  He had some some suggestions that I had not thought of that I ended up incorporating into the job.  He emailed the quote within a few days,and it was competitive with other quotes I received.  I felt very comfortable and confident with Eric's experience and professionalism, so I hired him.  We scheduled the job for two weeks later.  
 I continued to make slight changes before the job started, and would email him with the updates.  He had no problem incorporating them into a revised work order and updating the related cost.  There were never any bait-and-switch tactics, and I was very comfortable with how Eric handled the financial side of things. He explained the individual costs very directly and openly so that there was no confusion.
Eric came by two weeks later as planned with all the woodwork he had been preparing at his shop.  Eric does the work himself, and he has a real passion for it.   It is comforting to know that you are dealing with the person who actually does the work.  He and his crew (2 guys, both very friendly) cleaned up after themselves each day, and completed the entire job in three days.
I am very satisfied with the job, and the kitchen looks and performs fantastic.  Eric is a real craftsman in the traditional sense, and I am so glad that I hired him for the remodel work.  I would highly recommend Eric ("Mr. Sawdust") to family and friends.

The whole process was a great experience. there were never no hidden cost or changes to existing quote. Mr Sawdust truly delivered. He was great to work with, clear and concise. The installation was quick, he did quality work and completed on time. We are very pleased with the work and would definitely recommend his services.

Eric (aka Mr. Sawdust) built a beautiful, built-in custom book case for us. He visited our house a couple of times to discuss what we were looking for, and what would best suit our house. He always answered our questions with a great amount of expertise, and he was a true professional. He drew up plans for us based on our conversations and was very patient with us while we were making our decision to move forward with the project. He was always very prompt in answering any emails/phone calls. Communication was a big plus! We are so happy with the final project. The craftsmanship was exemplary and all of the materials were top quality. The installation process went very smoothly and we are so delighted to have chosen Mr. Sawdust. 

Eric understood that that was a very special job in a house with historical designation.  The cabinets had to be in a specific Arts and Crafts style - doors flush with frames, door frame trim 1/2" wider on the bottom, custom panel for dishwasher, specific Arts and Crafts color.  He understood all of our requests, our timetable, and performed exactly as we wished.  The kitchen looks fabulous, with perfect cabinets and paint job.  We liked him very much and recommend him totally.  He was a real find and we would use him again in a heartbeat.

We finished building our house last year but I never got around to finalizing the configuration of my home office.  After nearly a year, I decided on the layout and rather than use oneof the cabinet makers we contracted with for the house (one awful, one quite good but scheduling didn't work), I found Eric on Angie's List.   The entire process was great.  I value attention to detail, quality and my time...and Eric was punctual, easy to communicate with and his product and work are first rate.  I would highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again for future projects.  Thanks Eric...office is great! 

Eric was a joy to work with. He always arrived on time for our appointments, called ahead and provided us a very polite, professional service at all times. He came over for a consultation at first, to take some measurements and talk with us about what we wanted. He then designed a solution for us that was even better than we could have imagined. The quality of his work is phenomenal, down to the tiniest detail. Our shelves and cabinets are now the focal point of our living room.  We look forward to having him return to build more built-in cabinets throughout our home.
Our cabinets fill the entire wall, well over 16' long and deep enough to store loads and loads of stuff. There are both cabinets and drawers on the bottom, and book shelves on top. Along the ceiling he installed lights, and each of the book shelves have a piece of glass inside so that the light shines through. At night the whole thing lights up beautifully, showcasing our books and knick knacks. He even accommodated the power switches along the wall, building them into the design so that we could still use them from the counter tops.
