"After an entire summer spent getting the run-around from the plumber we'd used at our home in the past, we gave up and used Angie's List to search for someone else who could get the job done. Within the course of two weeks, Mike came out to look at the project, devised a plan, and sent us a quote for the work. His associate, Roger, came out soon after and, within a full day's work, our firepit was finally functional. What impressed me: 1) Neither our former plumber nor our landscape contractor (who installed the firepit in the first place) seemed to know how to make the firepit functional in a way that was up to code, meaning we'd basically paid $$$ for a 36" hole in the middle of our new patio. Mike figured out a creative solution almost immediately. 2) Part of the project required shutting off the gas to our home. Roger came back into the house as soon as he turned the gas back on to make sure our furnace was functioning properly and to relight the pilot on our water heater. 3) When he was finished, Roger cleaned up the patio and nearby flower bed and actually apologized to me for tracking a bit of mud onto our driveway during the course of his work. I had not complained about this (and wouldn't have!), but it was a nice surprise to have a contractor who was so concerned about cleaning up after himself. This is one of the best experiences we've ever had with a contractor, and we would HIGHLY recommend Mike and his crew for any of your plumbing needs!show more

"1st Choice Inspection is truly THE BEST CHOICE for homeowners: I learned so much from them just by tagging along for the nearly three-hour meeting that occurred less than 24 hours ago!!! They meticulously examined everything, top to bottom, outside to inside, visible to invisible, known to unknown (to me, at least: THEY KNOW EVERYTHING that needs to be checked out!!!). Just as important, however, is their explanation of everything they were doing (about two-thirds of which I already had some clue about, having owned my current home for more than a decade, yet the final one-third which I never would've guessed), as well as the potential near- and far-future impact of everything they were discovering. Similarly, they had PROMPT AND INFORMATIVE RESPONSES, IN REAL TIME, to all of my nit-picky questions about this-and-that, which I greatly appreciated!!! (I'm a naturally curious person who loves learning anything I can in whatever situation I happen to be in at the moment.) Indeed, they helped me decide what needs to be addressed before I move in and what can be held off on for 1/5/10 years (which's my own plan that's served me oh-so well in the past). Perhaps the best, though, was their including my school-aged son in the process, allowing him to feel important by having him check to see whether a couple of electrical outlets in each room were in working order, along with finding the dimmer and/or light switches in each-and-every room. And they even laughed at my jokes, which I found most affirming and quite charming!!! Lastly, their price structure is EVER-SO-AFFORDABLE!!! I paid about the same for their services as I do for a year's worth of a basic Disney+ bundle. (And you-all know how inexpensive that is!) I've already decided to have them do an inspection of my current home, prior to putting it on the market, so I know what I should "fix up" before the open house and what I really don't need to worry about. 1st Choice Inspection truly is THE BEST CHOICE I could've ever made for my soon-to-be sanctuary!!! "Jeff did a very thorough job! He was so knowledgeable, and gave us pointers on ways to fix things. He identified items as either critical, or maintenance items / not critical, and he also identified things that he checked that were fine. The report ended up being about 80 pages, with great pictures, so it was easy to see what the problem was, or if no problem existed, to document that the item was looked at with no issues. (Where former problems existed, he commented on that too - for example, there was evidence of water seepage, but the roof had been repaired since. So Jeff measured the moisture (or lack of) with a meter, and documented that there seemed to be no current problem.) After we fixed things per his recommendation, Jeff even updated the report to eliminate those items in the report!show more
