Mark Phillips Residential Designs LLCHe delivered as promised and provided a very effective set of plans. He was prompt and was referred to me by three other builders. We took a visual replication of a design we liked and he transformed that into a floor plan for us. He has a great reputation and his plans are very user friendly for the subcontractor crew.- Ed D.

Balahoski BuildersKendra Balahoski came first to get measurements for estimates for windows, flooring, and a basement shower, and to work up design ideas for a new deck and give estimates for that. She also offered very helpful ideas for how to resolve some flooring issues -- we have an open floor plan and so figuring out where to end one floor and start another can take some creativity. Kendra's suggestions were excellent. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the windows -- we had expected to pay more. Soon after we agreed to have the windows and the basement shower done, Dave Balahoski had the new windows here and began installation. These are big quality double-hung windows, and the holes required some finessing to get them in. Dave handled the siding removal and re-install and the window installation with no problem -- the windows look great both inside and out. Then work began on the basement shower -- once he opened up the space, he realized he could design the shower to make the most of the space and include a shower seat. He knew we wanted to tile the shower ourselves to save money -- he asked if we were up to putting in the shower pan and the concrete floor slightly sloped to the drain. Once he described the process, we knew it would require more finesse than we felt sure about. We asked him to do that and it was no problem. He worked long hours for a week to get everything done. He opened up the concrete floor to place the drain correctly; patched the floor; framed the shower, seat, and bulkhead to conceal a standpipe, installed a light and vent fan; then sealed up the shower with cementboard and poured the floor to drain correctly. (He displays an incredible mastery of concrete! Dave was efficient, hard-working, friendly, easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and affordable on top of all that. We were so impressed!- Amy L.

Balahoski BuildersI was very disappointed. They were over priced and not even licensed. It took a long time for her to come up with a design and then the measurements were wrong. It took at least a month to come up with. We ended up not using them. They were very unprofessional and charged a lot of money.- Esther W.

When my wife and I first decided to completely remodel our home several years ago, we planned to interview three architects. Michael was the first on our schedule, and as soon as he left our house, I told my wife there was no need to interview anyone else, so we cancelled the other two interviews. Michael’s presentation was not only professional, but also extremely customer-oriented, and his sincere desire to make our dreams come true was obvious within the first five minutes of our meeting, even though we had never undertaken anything of this scope before. I knew immediately that we could do no better than Architectural Resource, and we never regretted choosing Michael’s team to make our dreams come true. His approach is unsurpassed as he takes great care to understand what his customers want and then makes it his highest priority to achieve the goals along every step of the process. His adherence to selection of a builder early in the process as a “partner” (and not an afterthought) is also instrumental in the overall success of his projects. Three years after our remodel, we have decided to undertake a smaller remodel to our home, and there was never a question of working with anyone other than Michael again to continue our dream.
