Friendly, respectful and hustled the entire time they were there, absolutely no down time. We were moving into a newly constructed home and there was not a single touch of the wall going up to second floor or down to basement with several heavy, large pieces of furniture. They also performed the job in the time quoted, exactly 6 hours. I tipped them well because these guys were the best movers we've had and the only one we would rehire. Blankenship Movers IncHired Blankenship Movers to pickup furniture at House A, deliver it to House B, then take other furniture out of House B and deliver it to House C. I was extremely pleased with everything. First, Sean was very flexible in meeting my scheduling needs on pretty short notice. On the service day, Ronny (crew chief) called 45 minutes before arrival and arrived on time. The moves from A to B to C were handled pretty quickly and efficiently. The delivery at House B was challenging because of a twisting staircase to the second floor, but the guys worked hard to make it happen. They worked carefully, wrapped furniture well to protect it. All three guys were very pleasant and courteous. Ronny was terrific - explained everything and made it all happen smoothly. I would highly recommend Blankenship - and crew chief Ronny. The WORST moving experience ever!!! If I could give them zero stars, I would. DO NOT USE. The owner of the company, Tony, constantly called me to check up on the movers, and when he realized they weren't going as fast as he wanted them to, he told me that he had another job at 2pm and that this needed to be done ASAP. Like it's my fault that your movers were 30 minutes late and that you scheduled back to back moves?! He also got mad when I told him parking at my old place in Lakeview was limited. Has he even been to Lakeview? PARKING IS LIMITED. That's nothing new, and a moving company in the city should know that. Then the movers couldn't get their excessively long 24 foot truck into the alley and loading dock at my new place, even though 26 foot trucks go into that loading dock regularly. Tony then calls me to tell me his movers are livid and that he's just going to have to take my stuff back to my old place and come back the next day with a smaller truck. WHO SAYS THAT??? He yelled at me while I tried to go find the owner of a truck that the movers thought was in their way, even though the garbage truck (which is a much wider truck) was able to get by this other truck just fine. I'm sobbing during all of this and getting berated for a driver's inexperience. Moving is stressful enough, and getting yelled at by the owner of the moving company was HIGHLY UNCALLED FOR. The movers also made snide comments like "We have to walk your stuff all the way down there?" when they realized the loading dock was a ways from the entrance. Not only that, but my TV stand fell over, and I have STILL NOT RECEIVED A PHONE CALL ABOUT MY LIABILITY INSURANCE AND COVERAGE FOR THE DAMAGE. I want to be very clear here and say that the movers were NOT THE PROBLEM. TONY IS THE PROBLEM. The movers did the best they could, and I could see their frustration from a micromanaging boss who thinks it's okay to berate his own employees and the people paying him for their work. !!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!
