THE STONE MAN, LLCIt is hard for me to put into words the deep appreciation and admiration I have for everyone at The Stone Man for transforming my backyard into my own outdoor oasis. During the planning/ design phase, Chris Davis met with me multiple times, both at my house and on-site at The Stone Man to develop and refine initial sketches. Working with me to understand what my dream goal would be, and finding a way to get the design completed within budget was greatly appreciated. Chris remained professional and patient with me throughout the planning phase, and his work was greatly appreciated. Once the construction began, Jon Purdue and team worked diligently on-site around the clock to transform our design vision into reality; and did the final result exceed expectations! I have confidence the team can complete any project, large or small, after seeing the work completed. The team developed the following: - Retaining wall designed in variable height from approx. 4 feet to 6 feet (to meet an architecture design I requested) - Large covered area with a fireplace, wet bar, and bar seating for 4 - Outdoor kitchen equipped with a custom designed brick oven - Outdoor fire pit with a seating wall, and additional seating for 4 adirondack chairs - Large paver area, complete with matching stone trim, which ties into countertops, fireplace, fire pit, etc. The daily workers on-site (led by Leo) are truly artist at their profession. One advantage of working from home during the pandemic was to be able to see the team hand chipping stone and building truly one of a kind masterful pieces. Jon did an exceptional job managing the project, checking in with me via phone or on-site multiple times a week. When sub-contractors came on-site to complete the work, they presented the same professionalism as the team from The Stone Man. Through conversations with the various sub-contractors, it was evident The Stone Man team performs a lot of reoccurring work with these groups, and the quality of work and professionalism exemplified by the team at The Stone Man was cascaded throughout all groups involved. Post-production, both Jon and Chris continue to check-in to ensure the work quality remains. Whether it be phone calls, text, hand written notes, or stopping by for small adjustments, this team is committed to excellence from start to finish and beyond. Throughout the process, not only did I gain a backyard design beyond my wildest dreams but I truly did gain friends that I hope to have over for a drink/ food to admire their work and realize how happy I am with the finished product. Queen City Masonry LLCJames Beverly and crew worked on 3 projects for me (1) usual repair of front steps, renewing mortar and replacing chipped bricks (2) putting in a brand new flagstone patio adjoining my driveway (3) enlarging a small paver patio in front of my utility shed. Of the 3 people I contacted on this site, James was the only one who followed up on his promise to come and look and give me an estimate. Everything was done to my satisfaction. After deciding to go forward with his company we set an amount for the services and schedule for the stone work. He never missed a day and his crew worked the whole entire time. I offered to pay 1/2 upfront but he explained that I could pay afterward which made it more reassuring that they would not run out during the job. I could tell that he knew his trade very well and even offered ideas that I did not even think of which added tremendous value. Crown BuildersMike was extremely professional and collaborative on the exterior design changes.. Crown provided examples, and electronic CAD links, to experiment with different materials from mock drawings, to assist with transformation of older home (40 + years) to a modern design. Addresses were provided of previous Crown work sites with color and material themes similar to our interest, to help with visualization during design phase. I am so grateful we found The Honey Do Service. We desperately needed our patio door replaced and some rot around it fixed. We had a previous contractor who measured and approved a new French door we purchased but unfortunately, he was too busy to install. When The Honey Do Service got to our home and gave us a very fair quote for the door, fascia board work and a gutter addition, we were excited for the work to begin! The gutters and fascia boards were so easy and took them no time at all. Its amazing how that really cleans up your houses exterior appearance. The patio door was more of a challenge (sorry again guys!). The door we already owned was not the correct size, so they had to customize our custom made door! I felt so awful for the extra work but the crew was so kind and did an amazing job getting it done. The additional cost for labor was still very fairly priced as well since our 2 day project took almost 5! I appreciate them taking the time to make sure everything turned out perfect instead of rushing to get something done that I wouldn't be happy with! We love the work that was done and have every intention of calling The Honey Do Service again!
