Recent Egress Window Reviews in Austin

It was a great experience. I had to work with Mark Johnson remotely on this rental property. He coordinated everything with my renters, and installed an excellent egress window. He completed the job in just 2 days and ensured that the renter was impacted as little as possible.

  • The Remodel Pro
Very well. Grant, The Remodel Pro owner, was personally involved whenever necessary and was always reachable. He was very fair when negotiating change order costs. Grant interfaced and coordinated activities efficiently with the subcontractors. Most importantly, I came to trust Grant and his recommended sub-contractors to the extent that the majority of the work was performed when I was out of the country. Grant had full access to my home when I was out of the country and I never worried about workers leaving a work area dirty, unsafe or missing personal items. Grant has a history with his subcontractors, including the interior decorator, and took accountability for all work; this puts the home owner at ease

Kurt, the owner came out to give the estimate. He was very nice and courteous. I was impressed with the quality of his glass block. He uses corning, American made glass block. Kurt and his crew arrived promptly and completed the job in two hours. They did an excellent job. They all were polite and hard workers. They removed all of the old windows and replaced them with the glass block. They cleaned everything up and left no debris. Kurt, the owner worked right along with his crew. He does not use subcontractors. They use white mortar which makes the windows look great. Superior glass block was recommended by another reputable company from Angie's list. I would recommend Superior glass block , because they are. Again, it is important to me that the glass block is made in USA. We need to support companies who support American made products

  • Ringer Windows
After reading lots of reviews I got three estimates. Ringer’s were right about where Titan’s were, but Titan was giving us two tempered glass windows out of nine - Ringer was giving us seven! Triple coated! Plus I like supporting local companies. The initial sales person/estimator was personable and helpful, the installation manager (who remeasured everything) was full of additional information, and the installation crew were very precise. They tarped inside the house to minimize cleanup, and really kept the mess to a minimum. I had worried about losing even an inch of windowsill space with the new windows (the units are a lot deeper than single pane aluminum) - because we display a lot of things in those spaces in the kitchen and dining room. But since the new glass is set at the OUTSIDE of the vinyl frames we actually have more space for our plants’ foliage to spread out than with the old windows. We’ve had our new Ringer windows for two and a half months now, so we’re no longer blown away every time we walk into another room. The installation looks beautiful, truly - both inside and out! We are tickled to death with our new windows, and I can’t thank the staff and craftspeople at Ringer enough. Their product has improved the quality of our lives substantially, and that’s important to us retired folks. I can hardly wait until our cash flow has recovered enough to finish the job - we still have five old windows (the ones on two sides of the house that we don’t look out of so much) which we plan to replace as well. They were terrific. They were really very good. They did a really, really good job. I found their salesman to be very knowledgeable. Their work crew was also very nice, very clean, very prompt and very efficient. They did a beautiful job on the windows.

Christie is a wonderful sales manager. The crew did a very nice job replacing the windows for us. They are very professional. We replaced our old windows with Milgard Tuscany windows. The new windows look beautiful. Our house is so quiet now.

I really could not have been more pleased with the responsiveness of Derek Baker and his team. We called to have someone come out and give us an estimate and I believe our appointment happened within 2 days of calling. Dennis Higgins came out to demo the windows operation and quality. We probably spent about an hour and a half with Dennis. He answered all of our questions, was extremely thorough. We did not intend to sign on the dotted line that day, but we really could not refuse after our estimate. Two days after our consult Steve was at our door at 8:30 am on a Saturday to take measurements. Steve, just like Dennis, was extremely thorough. He was in and out and let us know he'd be ordering our window and to expect them to take about 2 weeks. Now for the install...This was a job. Our house is about 34 years old and still had the original windows. Terry and Mike, I believe were our install guys...They were able to finish the job in a day. Both were extremely courteous, personable and professional. Getting the windows out created quite a mess, but each broken window was careful cleaned up. It's hard to believe we've put up with crummy windows for the 3.5 years we'd been in the house. We've got gorgeous Don Young windows installed. Our little dark house now has some nice, natural light. Windows are not cheap. If you want good windows, be prepared to pay for them. I think Derek's team are some of the most professional that I've dealt with. I'd use them again for future jobs

I did a lot of research online and on foot before contracting with Gary Carpenter. My primary objective was to qualify for the $1500 Federal Energy Tax Credit. During my research, I quickly learned that the installation was just as important, if not more so, than the windows selected. With Austin Windowerks, I got both - great windows and professional installation. First, Gary came to my house to take a look at the job and give me a rough estimate. He left several sample windows to help me decide on the window type and color. After deciding on Burris TectView AC windows, Gary and Jeff, the installer, came out to measure. After receiving a formal bid and paying a deposit, the windows were ordered. They arrived about 4 weeks later. Prior to installation of the new windows, my husband and I moved all furniture to clear a 3 foot radius of the existing windows. We also removed all window treatments. Jeff and his crew of two installed 12 windows and 2 sets of sliding doors in about two and a half days. At the end of each work day, the old windows and any debris were hauled off. Our 1974 year old house has mainly a limestone exterior with some masonry. Jeff did an excellent job trimming out the windows in both cases. The exterior mortar application is seamless with the rest of the house. At my request, Gary agreed to reinstall solar screens on two of our windows that have taken golf ball hits in the past. Since screwing the screens into the windows would void the warranty, he devised a way to install them with brackets leaving a slight gap away from the windows so the golf balls will bounce off. About a week after the job was finished, the City of Austin inspector came out to take a look at the job. No problems since Gary ensured all residential egress requirements were met upfront. Austin Windowerks has been in business for many years. Gary knows his product and does not cut corners. He made sure I was completely satisfied. When I paid the balance due, he provided a folder with complete documentation on the windows. It included warranty information and the documents I’ll need to apply for the Federal Energy Tax Credit. I would highly recommend this company for window replacement

  • Egress Specialties and General Contracting
The only one we used them that was Egress people. I can't quite remember if the guy's name is Michael Martin but it sounds right. It went very well. I give them and ldquo;Aand rdquo; for everything. They did the job out and it turned out to be extraordinarily harder than they anticipated and they just still didn't charge us anymore for that because they build out. They did a really good job. They took them a lot longer from what we expected. It took like an extra full day. It was supposed to be just in the afternoon and it turned out to be another full day and we got the job done right and look good. I'm actually out of town and my wife handled most of that it went well. Roughly when I was in trip so that was third week of May 2013 whatever that was. I don't recall how much it cost. It is reasonable. I would recommend them
