Reviews of Local Contractors for Commercial Roofing
Review written on Aug 5, 2019 - company is not taking on additional work currently No work was completed. Robert Martin from the company responded first thing Monday morning (I had sent an email late Sunday night) with the following message: "Unfortunately we won’t be able to assist. We aren’t taking on anymore work at this time as our schedule is booked out a ways." A+ for responsiveness Would have been better if he had given me an option to book something later on. It may not have worked but it's always nice to be given an option.

AROCON Northern Viriginia
We needed a new roof for our commercial office building (10,200SF of roof) as ours was over 30 years old. We contacted a few different companies but eventually decided on Arocon as their pricing was great, they gave us a great solution for our terraces, and they were able to work with a very specific schedule we requested. Our work was done over a 2 month period due to our specific schedule and it went very smoothly. We knew what was going on, how loud it was going to be, and they were very clean and considerate of our clients. Our project consultant, Adam, was in communication with us regularly and ensured the project went smoothly throughout the duration. Our roof is currently done and it looks amazing! We would not hesitate to give them a call for any of our other local buildings that would need a new roof.

Pond Roofing Co Inc
The estimator and owner were always involved and participated. The repairs were always good. One time the leak was more substantial and Pond explained that the problem was beyond its capabilities because our roofing system was more commercial than residential. I was referred to a commercial roofer. That work turned out to be minimal and the problem was solved.

Corley Roofing & Sheet Metal Co Inc
Corely Roofing did an outstanding job on a difficult repair to the flat roof on our apartment building. We had had persistent leaks and a chronic problem with the guttering that no other contractor had been able to fix over the previous 18 months. Corley sent out a team of 4=four excellent roofers and they finished the work in only a couple of hours. The owner came out and checked the work and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely use them again.

Augustine Roofing LLC
Augustine was prompt, courteous, and professional throughout. I have had several commercial interactions with them over the years and have been highly pleased.

American Home Contractors of VA, LLC
Eric arrived on time and did an attic inspection (w/photos) and then proceeded up on the roof to look for signs of potential water intrusion points. He was able to seal several locations with a commercial roof sealing product.

Augustine Roofing LLC
It went very well. The crew showed up in the morning, they were very polite, they worked hard and cleaned up well afterwards. This is the second time I have used Augustine Roofing. They did a commercial roof for a client of mine two years ago.
- Matt E.
Bottom line, the "fix" worked great and the drain should last another 20 years which is approximately the next time we will be replacing the roof, also successfully installed by DBS Roofing. This is a great company and I highly recommend them for your commercial roofing repairs, maintenance and replacement.

RIBA Construction LLC
RIBA construction was the best experience I have ever had with a construction / remodeling company. I had a custom job converting an unfinished building to a small business commercial retail space. The owner, Rich, personally came out to look at my project and was a true advisor to me on what things I needed to consider to avoid future problems, save money, and achieve the visual outcome I was hoping for. I found the entire transaction highly honest and with the upmost integrity. I was truly inspired by the wealth and depth of knowledge displayed in the design phase of the project. The crew that came out to do the work was on time, cleaned up diligently every day, displayed a high level of professionalism and produced the highest quality end product I could have imagined. Every time there was a slight deviation in plan they walked me through the options and fully explained the best resolution – and most importantly kept me in budget without charging me extra – it was as if they were committed to me and this project rather than boosting revenue and profits – this was a breath of fresh air as compared to some of my previous experiences with other companies. My small business commercial retail space is now completely finished – Insulation, drywall, flooring, door and window installation, painting, trim and molding work and roofing – all brilliantly done. The end result is phenomenal – RIBA is the last construction / remolding company I will ever need – they are now my go-to for all things. You will be in good hands with RIBA.

Black Ox Standing Seam Roofing Inc
Tom's team came in on time and did what he said they would in the expected time frame. I was on site for the whole installation. They obviously took pride in their work. A neighbor of mine who runs big commercial construction projects on a global basis noted that the roof looked like high quality commercial construction. I'm very happy with the details. I wish we had chosen a bit darker color gray for the metal but that is on us. I recommend trying to see actual samples rather than looking at internet pictures of colors. I would hire Tom's team again and I highly recommend them for a high quality standing seam metal roof installation.

MJL Contractors, Inc
Mike Laudicina and his sons, Chris and Tim, and everyone who worked on this job were courteous and highly professional. They were on time and knew exactly what they were doing. They took the time to explain what they were going to do and then did it. All the subcontractors did this as well. They are a Residential & Commercial Construction company

R M Banning Roofing
They arrived as scheduled and got the work completed in 1 1/2 days. When they tore up the old roof they said that I needed additional wood to secure the trusses. They never itemized the wood I needed, so I am not sure how much they used vs what they charged me (roughly $400 worth). When they completed the job I noticed that some of the roof was not seated as flatly as I supposed. They told me that it would eventually flatten with exposure to the sun and heat. I was also concerned about leaking, but they told me to call if I experienced a problem. They gave me a 15 year warranty. Hopefully, I won't have to use it!

Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows
Estimator was prompt, thorough, and professional. Have used them in the past and would have used them for this work had my friend offered to do the work at his "friends discount".

Peak Roofing Contractors Inc
Excellent. Some of the best service I've experienced with any business regardless the business. Totally professional from start to finish. Thank you.
- Wyndell P.
Good, fairly consistent legalistic process, but I choose them for confidence they would do the roof right as well as the tax credit paperwork. Charged me an additional $75. to clean up all the heavy layer of roof debris littering inside my attic after the install. I would have thought more of them if that was included in the price. Update: the roof developed a major crack after 3 years. It did not leak but was cracked through to under layers, which shouldnt happen on a long life commercial torch down roof material. I called Roofworks for someone to come take a look and was told it couldnt be under warranty. It was and I provided the information. It was almost 2 months before they sent someone out and then more -months - of nonresponsiveness to calls and unacknowledged emails. Would never do business with them again based on this experience.

Expert Handyman & Remodeling
I emailed Thomas Rich and then followed up with a phone call a couple days later. He read through my list and quoted me the price per day and said materials were extra. I told him that I would get materials and that there was a home improvement store nearby also. The handyman assigned to the job called me two days in advance while I was at the local home improvement store and we talked through the different things he would do and what I was buying. As a result, I went back into the store and picked up another item. Then he called the night before to confirm directions. The day of he arrived right on time at 8 a.m. He came in and surveyed the jobs and said he'd have to go to a different home improvement store (since that's where they have an account), but that's not nearby like the local home improvement store. So I provide directions and he goes to the store. He returned an hour & 20 mins. later with all the items. Little did I know, I was being billed for that time plus a 60% markup on items since that was not disclosed up front. He came back and started on the roof, scraping, prepping and then painting one coat of paint. He also did the light timers that day. At 3 p.m he told me he had to leave early for a personal appt. and he would finish up the return visit. I had to sign and pay for an entire day which was not worked and when i asked for the receipts for the items (which was a high total I though) he told me Thomas would send it. He also didn't provide a receipt of what I was signing. So on Monday Thomas called me to follow up and I told him what happened and he explained the markup on the home improvement store (they have an account with) items and paying for travel time. I told him that I didn't know that ahead of time and was not pleased with that and he told me he wanted me to be happy and wanted my business and removed the markup and said the next visit I would be credited two hours for the supply trip and for the early departure. When it rained again the roof was fine (no leaks!). As far as the light timers, I programmed them and the porch light timer works fine, the post light is not coming on and off properly. The second visit was two weeks later. The same person came back, Eric, and was on time. Got to work on the other items and was working quickly. He had to run out again but came back much faster this time. The items were completed well, to my satisfaction. What I didn't like was that he was trying to not complete the glass pane installation and push it to a next visit. I asked that he finish it that day and he did because he wanted me to be satisfied. I was satisfied and would probably use them again. The fan looks great and does not wobble. I also didn't like that he threw away the package to the light timer with the directions in it.

Kelbie Home Improvement Inc
I bought the package deal from Angie's list, approximately $150, and paid an additional $100, to replace the shingle with some I had stored from the original supply.

DryHome Roofing & Siding Inc
On September 20, 2011, I called the company regarding my leaky roof, but they were too busy to answer the phone. The voice message requested callers to go on-line and submit information, which I did. They responded two days later by phone to tell me they could not handle my job. I won't call them again.

Nova Exteriors Inc
Nova Exteriors executed our project professionally and delivered an outstanding project result. Our deck project required a trustworthy contractor to not only assess the viabilty of the existing roof, but then complete all work without damaging it. We received 4 qualified bids for the job. From the sales process through project completion, Nova treated our little project like a big one. They delivered the most complete and professional proposal. Gustavo was always available to answer questions and clarify in writing. Once we signed, we were immediately assigned a Project Manager, David Wicker, who kept in constant contact. He always answered my phone calls. All project materials were delivered directly from Barrons (well known local supplier) and were of the highest quality materials. Once on site, we had the same foreman and crew throughout the entire project. All were skilled tradesman and extremely informative, hardworking and thoughtful. When I changed my mind about the lighting, David Wicker allowed me to choose a different product, and worked with me on the budget and project delays I caused. The most impressive aspect of this project is the one that we, as homeowners, almost never get - QUALITY WORKMANSHIP. Every grain on every board matches the next. Every screw is perfectly hidden and aligned with the adjacent one. I have professional experience in working with commercial contractors for critical IT infrastructures. I'm sure Nova Exteriors does commercial work. But they treated my residential project like a commercial one - made my project seem to me like their most important one. And they built it just the same - their most important one. In closing, this review is honest and true. In 28 years, we have owned 3 homes in Ohio, Boston area, and now here in Maryland. My husband is a PhD Physicist , a great woodworker and handyman, but I do the contracting. I have hired countless contractors over the years - most are about average to good. If you have a project, the most important thing is know what you want. Write it down, and then begin the hiring process. If you hire Nova Exteriors, I believe you will get your money's worth, and then some. You will have a beautiful outcome.
