"I hired Ape-Scapes last July as I needed a fence quickly installed before we moved in. The fence had to meet HOA specifications. Their bid was right on for material with what I had calculated had I done it myself but I simply didnt have time. The 2-man crew (Joe and Scott) were great; very professional and friendly and always checked with me if there were any decision to be made before proceeding. They even had to trim some bushes and hauled everything away. After 7 months the fence still looks great and no issues whatsoever. I would definitely hire them again should the need arise."

"Exceptional job, their professionalism was great, clean up was good, very trustworthy workers and all of their people were clean cut professionals. Price was very fair for what they did. I am very pleased with their work, that is why I continue calling them for my Tree Service projects, and The owner, Ryan was a pleasure to work with."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

According to scientists at Penn State University, spotted lanternflies do not typically kill the trees and plants they feed on, but they can cause branches and segments to die off. However, they have been found to kill cultivated grapes, which can have devastating consequences for vineyard owners and regions that heavily rely on vineyards to create jobs and generate revenue. They have also killed the Ailanthu altissima, known as the tree of heaven, though this is classified as a noxious and invasive weed tree.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.
