The day the workers were here to do the roof everything went very smooth. Everyone was nice and polite and everything was done in one day, that was great. I'm 45 years old and started roofing at the age of 17 as an apprentice for my Brother in-law who was a Master Carpenter, Business owner,and 20+ years my senior. He taught me a lot about quality and what sets a laborer aside from a skilled Carpenter. A year later I was learning to lay floor trusses , flooring,layout top& bottom plates to frame walls and nearly everything else that led up to the roofing part where I started a year or so prior. I worked with him almost five years in Carolina Beach,N.C. Doing Decks, Drywall jobs, Trim carpentry, additions , remodels, Installation of windows and doors, just about everything besides electric. I then Moved back to Winchester and got a job on a wall panel line framing walls and then same company in Charlestown at their floor and roof truss factory almost 2 years. Soon after in early 2000's I ventured out on my own and started picking up as a subcontractor doing everything I had learned from my experiences. A lot of the work was In lake Holiday community in Cross Junction va. Word of Mouth and recommendations kept me busy. I got out of the business about 2012 because I found it hard to get a crew together and decided to get into Graphic arts and a job in Fairfax county. I'm starting to get back to a small handyman service, just myself and one qualified helper. Small handyman jobs are the specialty.
