Gutter MastersCalled a number of so-called gutter companies, and left messages (Gutters Direct, Honey Do Service). The ONLY vendor who took my call AND followed-up AND came to my house was Jay Talbot of Gutter Masters. He is very knowledgeable about his craft, and he and his team did excellent work. Krampe Cleaning ServicesHe did a good job with the power washing work. The siding looked great, and all the algae was removed from the roof. I made the mistake of asking if he did gutter guards, and he showed me some samples of different types of gutter guards that were in his truck. Like a dummy, I told him to go ahead and put gutter guards on the house. He arrived on his scheduled day, and went ahead with his work. I didn't go outside, as there was water flying everywhere (understandable, since it was pressure washing). When he was done, I went out to look at the job. The house and roof looked great. The gutter guards looked like crap. They were sticking up out of the gutters in such a fashion that water wouldn't even pass over them. I knew d*** well that they weren't installed correctly, but he kept telling me that "oh ya, this way they won't collapse down into the gutters under the weight of snow and ice. Whatever. He was standing there tapping his foot with his hand out, so I let him convince me that I didn't know what I was talking about. HA! I DID know what I was talking about, as it turned out. This guy installed these gutter guards incorrectly (should have been flat from the front of the gutter to UNDER the edge of the shingles), upside down, and backwards (front to back). Anything that he could have done wrong, he did. Rain just ran down the roof, hit these gutter guards, and was forced back to the drip edge, where the water came out behind the gutters, close to the house. What a mess! I thought there was a discrepancy on the bill, so I called him and left a message. He never even bothered to return my call, which is totally unprofessional. Like I said, the power washing was well done, but stop there if you choose to engage this guy. Also, anything he says about "the gutter cleaning is free if you have me do the power washing" - make sure you get it in writing. Once he has your check and is gone, you'll never hear from him again.- Walt S.

The contractor provided an estimate by the hour, but no total estimate for the overall job. They told me they would begin on Monday, but by Tuesday night, I received a text message indicating there was a delay in starting on my home. I was told in the text message that work would begin on Wednesday. Wednesday came, with no one there, and I was promised that night, again via text message that workers would arrive on Thursday. Once again, no one arrived on Thursday, but I was told yet again via text they would arrive on Friday. When still no one showed up on Friday, I received a text that the manager did not know why the sub-contractors had not arrived, but that he would look into it. On Sunday night, I received yet another text indicating that the company would not be able to do the work on my home. I never received so much as a phone call after the first meeting for the estimate, I never received a firm estimate on paper, and there was a complete lack of professionalism.
