"Had a water leak in my front yard from a broken pipe. ADKINS plumbing was the only company that could come out the day we discovered the leak. Jarrod and his helper worked until 10:00 at night putting in a new water line so we could have water service restored the same day. They came back the next day and filled in the hole they dug the previous day and did their best to put the sod back in its place. Jarrod and his helper were both courteous and considerate of my property and concerns when they did the work. Their price was reasonable."

"Exceptional service. We are very grateful that he includes Hinton as one of the areas he serves. He showed up when he said he would and worked late into the night on a Saturday to replace a broken water main that had been damaged during the ice storm. The repair required digging under concrete and dealing with a difficult main line situation, but he hustled the entire time and worked efficiently to restore our water. He returned Sunday morning to finish everything up and made sure the repair was completed properly. What really stood out was his work ethic and dedication to getting the job done right. He communicated clearly, stayed focused, and worked through the weekend until everything was resolved. We truly appreciate the effort he put into helping us and will absolutely call him again for future plumbing work. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

If a buyer pays for a survey, the surveyor they hired will only provide results to them. It’s up to the buyer whether they share the survey results with the seller or not, even if they ultimately walk away from the deal. It’s considered good faith to share the results with the seller, though, especially if you back out of the deal, as the seller can then provide that survey to future interested parties.

Depending on the type of land survey, the report will mark the boundaries of your property, the topographical changes of the landscape, as well as major natural and added structures to the plot. A more detailed survey, like an as-built survey, will note the measurements of the structures and landscape following major construction. A topographic survey will also help your contractor determine the cost of land development projects.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

When considering the price of drilling a well, factor in how much you’ll save in water costs per year. The average family of four uses 100 gallons of water per person per day in the U.S. With a private water well, you can save hundreds each year.

Wells are also environmentally friendly. You don’t need to worry about drinking water treated with chemicals. Talk to at least three well pump contractors in your area. They’ll be able to tell you more about your options, give you different quotes, and discuss the biggest concerns.

Land surveying can help give clear guidance on your property boundaries for numerous situations. And in some cases, having your land surveyed is a requirement. Some common reasons to have your land surveyed include:

  • Planning for construction projects, like building a fence

  • Locating utilities, such as plumbing fixtures

  • Settling property line disputes

  • Creating subdivisions

  • Meeting mortgage requirements

  • Selling your property
